Storyline and Accessibility
Hi, I'm using Storyline, and you can see what needs to be done to make it accessible. I've added ALT text to things, but when added to Rise, the screenreader is not picking it up. Can anyone help as what I may be doing wrong or found a way to make it work? Many thanks

Hi Mel14,
Sorry to hear that you've run into this setback when accessibility testing your Storyline course.
Do you mind providing more detail on what specifically the screen reader isn't picking up? For example, is it not reading Image's Alt Text, Button Labels, or the entire Storyline interaction? Also, does the issue occur when you launch the Storyline course directly, or only after it's been embedded as a Storyline Block in Rise? Knowing which screen reader you're working with would be helpful, too.
If you're comfortable, sharing the .story file and a screen recording of the behavior can help us troubleshoot this more easily. Feel free to upload those items here in the discussion or privately through a support case.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi StevenBenassi,
Thank you for getting back to me!
It's the text/buttons; this is the first time I have used Storyline with the new accessibility updates, so it could very well be user error. I was just trying it with the screen reader that's built into explorer thats in the URL bar. Happy to share the file :)

Hi Mel14,
Thanks so much for sharing those details and a copy of your file!
Are you using the Read Aloud feature in Microsoft Edge? If not, can you share which browser and tool you're testing with?
I added your file as a Storyline block in a Rise 360 course. Testing the course with NVDA in Chrome, I'm able to navigate through the Storyline block by selecting Tab to jump from each stage, and return to learn more about each stage. Here's a quick demo to show you how it worked!
If you try using a different screen reader, such as NVDA, can you please let us know what happens?
