Storyline SCORM: Unexpected Font Changes & Square Boxes
We have a few separate Storyline SCORM modules that were built using the same layout/template – they were all quizzes/short assessments and uploaded into the same course in our platform, Docebo.
After uploading the file, we noticed an issue where the text in one of the modules would render in a different font and some of the characters would appear as square boxes. On some slides, the feedback layer was also visible before the answer was submitted. We tested across multiple browsers, including private/incognito sessions, and the issue persisted.
My colleague republished and reuploaded the file and the issue resolved. However, after later making changes to a one of the other modules built from the same template and overwriting the existing SCORM package, the issue reappeared.
Has anyone encountered similar behavior?

Hi @PaulDanyluk,
Thanks for reaching out! That does sound odd, especially since republishing temporarily fixed the issue. The font issue and early feedback layer may have separate causes. A few details could help narrow them down:
- Which fonts are used in the affected text, and do the square boxes appear for specific characters?
- Are the feedback layers set to appear only after a learner submits an answer?
As a troubleshooting step, I recommend that you double-check that your team is working and publishing from the latest version of Storyline 360. I also suggest testing your courses in SCORM Cloud to see if you get the same behavior as in Docebo.
If you're still experiencing this after testing in SCORM Cloud, we'd be happy to take a closer look at the .story files in a support case to continue troubleshooting.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
