Storyline Timeline behaving like a real time line

Is there a way, or are there plans in the future, to position the playhead anywhere on the time line and be able to see/edit what's happening at that moment? It's really non-productive to have everything on the stage show whenever the playhead stops. I have a motion path that I need to edit at specific times along the time line but, unless I'm missing something, I can't. I have to go to FinalCut Pro, move what I need to move, export it and insert the clip, then hide everything to do what I need to at a given point on the time line.

    Hi George,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing the changes you would like to see in Storyline. We're tracking a feature request for the ability to scrub and pause the timeline playhead and see what is on the slide at that point.

I have included this discussion on our report, and we will be sure to reach out to you with any updates we can share!

    Hi guys,

I would like to up vote this request. You used to be able to see what content was on the timeline by holding the click button down on the playhead, but even that doesn't work anymore.

There also used to be a playhead position counter under the timeline section. What happened to that? I would really like to see that returned to the Timeline.

    Thank you,

    Dave

  • Hi, George and Dave.

I have exciting news to share!
We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 66, we've included important fixes and new features.

One of the features we've included is:

Scrub the timeline to quickly see when timed elements appear and disappear on the stage without previewing the entire slide.

To take advantage of this feature, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let us know if you have any questions by posting here or by reaching out to our Support Engineers directly.

    Hi Maria,

Honestly I noticed the different behavior in the play head this morning, thinking, hmmm something is different... but it didn't register until I got your note! Perfect! Really a big improvement. Thank you and your team for this change. I'm a heavy user and this really helps the workflow.
