Text entry not working
I am working on a project where I need the learner to type either "Test" or "test" into a text entry field and then click a submit button to advance to the next slide. I’ve tried various methods, including moving triggers around and deleting the slide, but none have worked consistently. In some cases, the submit button advances the slide regardless of what text is entered, while in others it doesn’t advance at all. I’ve exhausted all of my options and would like to understand what is causing Storyline to behave this way. Thank you!

The trick with using a Quiz Question to do this is to let the Storyline features do most of the work for you. SOme of the triggers you added were getting in the way of what Storyline is set up to do by default. I have attached a working version of your Sample, using Branching for correct and giving them unlimited tries to get it right.
Hopefully, this helps. I am sure others out there will have other solutions, as well.
