The original voice for this audio is not available

Have anyone met this kind of error? I want to modify one single word in a 50 minutes long e-learning, and the Storyline says: "The original voice for this audio is not available".

What does this mean? Is this voice permanently removed? Should I change the narration in the whole 50 minutes course? I hope not. Is there a fix available for this error?

  • I have the exact same problem today, I've reinstalled Storyline but still get the same error message. From what I see on the forum, it seems to be a bug happening to a few people.

  • About a week or so ElevenLabs sent out a message they were removing dome voices that people were not using. I'm guessing you were using some of these voices. You may be able to contact them and see if you can get them back.

    Good luck

  • Check todays update to see Articulate has removed voices that are no longer supported.

Well that's not good news. Thanks for the answer! Can you share the link where you found said update? I'm searching for it and can't find it.

I found it, turns out the information is not yet available on the French page, but it's there on the English page. Which led me to this: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/discuss/unsupported-ai-voices-removed-in-update-104/1238326

The amount of AI voices removed is quite significant. This is pretty bad news for us, who were so excited about AI voices.

And I am sorry, but Laura is not a good default if you were using Antoni.

  • I just did an update of Storyline 360, and I looked at what new and this is what I found.

Enhanced: To keep your text-to-speech narrations reliable and current, we removed AI-generated voices that our subprocessor stopped supporting.

  • Hello, everyone!

We appreciate you sharing your voices with us. I understand how this change is impacting your current workflows. I want to confirm that we have removed unsupported AI-generated voices in our latest version of Storyline 360 (Update 104).

I see many of you have opened support cases. Thanks for reaching out to our Support Engineers! I'm glad we can continue the conversation in your individual support cases if you have any other questions.

  • I'm sharing the update from this thread! We have worked with our ElevenLabs partner to bring back legacy voices.

Hi all! We hear your frustration about the recent removal of several AI-generated voices from Storyline 360. It's clear this change has significantly impacted your projects, and we understand how disruptive this has been, especially without advance notice. We’re genuinely sorry about how this has impacted you.

In response to your feedback, we have worked with our ElevenLabs partner to bring back legacy voices, meaning the legacy voices have returned to Storyline 360. What does that mean for you? You will now see the legacy voices listed again.

We're working with ElevenLabs directly to establish better communication channels so we can provide more advanced notice of any future voice changes and what the impact will be for you as authors.
