AI Text-to-speech no voices today
None of my courses are allowing me to edit or add text-to-speech. I was just working on them yesterday and now nothing. My text is gone. No voices come up in the box. What's going on? -- Screenshots are from an existing text-to-speech instance that was just there yesterday. I've checked several other courses and same issue.
Hi Everyone,
We've identified the issue that caused delays when accessing AI Audio features in Storyline 360 and Rise 360.
We're starting to see recovery across AI Audio in Storyline 360 and Rise 360, as well as other AI Assistant features. Some Creators may still experience delays while recovery continues. We're monitoring progress closely and will share another update as soon as we have more information.
The Articulate status page is a great way to see the current status of all Articulate services. If you'd like to stay updated, please click the SUBSCRIBE button in the upper right corner of the status page, so you can receive notifications of any changes.
Again, we apologize for the disruption and thank you for your patience!

I have the same problem, any help would be appreciated. Also, Storyline crashes when I try to add a voice.

Ugh yes! I have a major deadline today and need to do audio updates. I thought it was on my end, did the update this morning, restarted my computer and still nothing. You have to manually look up your voice to find it and redo all the settings. Then you can do your TTS, BUT then when you right-click the "Voice over" in the timeline to see the text, it's EMPTY! This is unacceptable, and I hope there is a fix today. I was really happy about the last update before this happened.
How can we do TTS updates if the text is gone. This is what I get when I right-click the new audio file in the timeline to edit the text-to-speech. ARTICULATE, PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP!- ckenglinCommunity Member
I'm in the same situation. This is a major issue. It's taking about 60 seconds for it to appear.

I'm unable to even select a different voice. Nothing is working for me. Looks like image generation isn't working either. May be a larger AI server issue on their end?

SAME ISSUE!! It's taking 30 - 60 seconds to load.

Since Articulate won't respond I think I've discovered the issue. Storyline did an update on Monday, June 9. It was working fine for me in the office that day. I didn't update until Tuesday. I was working from home that day and yesterday so didn't see this issue. I"m back in the office today. I ran a diagnostic and looked through the error log and found the culprit.
Our firewall blocking the AI calls when using Storyline becuase they added new AI features and it's trying to connec to new subdomains that aren't whitelisted by our IT.
Here's a brief summary.
Technical Details & Log Symptoms:
- The Storyline client attempts to fetch arrays from endpoints like https://articulate.com.
- Instead of the expected JSON data, the corporate firewall/proxy intercepts the request and injects an HTML/JSON error page (containing a statusCode key).
- Storyline tries to deserialize this error response into an internal data type (ManifestListContainer), causing a crash with the following error:
Cannot deserialize the current JSON object (e.g. {"name":"value"}) into type 'Articulate.ThreeSixty.Core.Internal.ManifestListContainer'1[Articulate.ThreeSixty.Core.Internal.TeamFolder]' because the type requires a JSON array... Path 'statusCode', line 1, position 14. - This is followed by a cascade of Network request failed... A task was canceled errors for the AI voice endpoints.

I imagine this issue is probably affecting many other users with strict IT firewall enforcement policies. Articulate should've anticiapted this when they added all the subdomains for these new AI calls. Very frustrating. It will take hours, maybe a few days who knows, for our IT to get these whitelisted. Meanwhile, my 15 courses I'm building that already have the text-to-speech build on every single slide. I can't edit them or add new ones.

Same here, has anyone generated a case yet?

I just submitted one and strongly worded it how there seems to be a new issue every day. Yesterday I found opening the voiceover to edit the script was really slow. At least yesterday I could access the script. Today we can't even add it.

I have submitted a case on this issue for everyone. My IT department already doesn't like Articulate and this may push them out the door and force us to use another software or find another off site to produce classes. I'm working from home today and having the same problem so I don't think out IT department will eve look at it.

I am seriously thinking about what else is out there. The latest buzzwords are vibe coding. Maybe that's an option. I seem to have issues daily with Storyline and am so fed up. I just had to explain to my client for I've lost count of how many times that there is an issue with Storyline. This makes us look bad.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Storyline at all. Never have been for the past 7 yrs or so I've been using it. It's a necessiry evil as they say. Older courses built in it, or that peers start a project and hand it to me, or our org says we need to build in Storyline.... I find myself stuck in it sometimes without a choice in the matter. Rise is much better for most use cases and I try to use it always when I can.

Our IT department is extremely tight on AI security and I suspect there is no way they will clear this for us. Thanks, everyone, for commenting and raising awareness- this is a very big deal.

So, our IT says it's not being blocked by them. Nothing in their logs match what the logs say in the Storyline error logs. Weird.
