trademark symbol in custom font in Rise 360 shows as incorrect font

I'm using Avenir Next World font in Rise 360 (it's my employer's required font). I've uploaded it as a custom font in Themes. It's a sans serif font. When I use Alt + 0153 to produce the trademark symbol ™, the symbol appears as a serif font instead. In Microsoft Word it shows up correctly, so I tried copy/pasting it from Word into Rise, but in Rise it still shows up as a serif font. It looks weird to have all my text as one font, but this one symbol as some other font. What's causing this and how can it be corrected? Thank you.

  • Hello Nancy! I understand the trademark symbol (™) is showing up with with a different font than what your employers required.

This appears to be a bug and it has been reported to our team for investigation. Sadly, there are no workarounds at this point other than using a different font.

I'll keep you updated should we receive any news regarding a fix or a possible workaround.

      Hi Geremy!

Thanks for checking in on this!

I don't have any updates to share at this time as our product team has been prioritizing other fixes. I've included you in the bug report and will update this discussion with any new developments.

In the meantime, for your reference, here's a deeper look at how we tackle bugs.

Hi, any update on this? We are still having this issue and the only workaround is to copy the entirety of a course into a new Rise template, for some reason that works. Obviously not ideal. Our company's compliance system flags the TM's in the serif font so this is actually a pretty time consuming 'glitch' for us.
