Translated lesson title not showing correctly in browser tab

Hey all!

My program has translated lessons and courses to 8 different languages are running into an interesting problem with Japanese specifically. When Intellum launches the lesson into a new tab, the lesson title text is coming through garbled in the tab (screenshot attached). This is not happening at the course level so it's not an Intellum issue.

Curious if anyone has run into this problem and has a solve. I downloaded the Japanese language onto my Mac and re-published the lesson but that didn't seem to fix it.

  • Hello there! Thanks for reaching out.

Japanese characters in your course will display the font you selected in the Theme. However, Rise 360's built-in fonts don't include non-Latin characters, so the accented characters may not appear the way you expected.

To fix this, you can download the full font set from the web and upload it to Rise 360. You may refer to this article on How to Get Non-Latin Characters to Display Properly.

Let me know if you have any questions.

      Hello everyone,

Sorry to "wake up" such an old post but I am facing the same problem.

My lesson is created in Greek and I am not using a custom font. The html tag title simple doesn't appear correctly on the browser tab/window.

I have tried using the build in fonts, Lato and Inter.

The LMS I am using is SAP SF LMS.

Does anyone has any suggestions on how to solve this?

      Regards,

      Panos

  • Hi @PanagiotisIl432

Thanks for reaching out! Happy to help!

If characters are still not displaying as expected after downloading, it is possible you could need a language-specific custom font. All you need to do is download the font package and upload it following these steps:

    1. Go to your Rise 360 dashboard and click a tile to edit the course.
    2. Click Theme in the upper right corner of the course editor.
    3. Click Fonts.
    4. Select the More tab.
    5. Select Manage Custom Fonts.
    6. Click Add Custom Font on the screen that appears.
    7. Enter a name for your custom font. (This is the name that will show in the font selectors in Rise 360.)
    8. Click the Regular, Bold, and Italic buttons and select a WOFF file from your computer. You don’t have to upload a WOFF file for all three categories, but you must upload at least a regular-weight font.
    9. Click Save to commit your changes.
    10. Click Back to return to the font menu or repeat the process for additional custom fonts.
    11. After uploading a custom font, you can apply it in any course you create.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
