Try again and Incorrect Layers not showing.
There's no need to add triggers to show the feedback layers of a graded question slide.
When Feedback is set to By Question, the Submit__ trigger automatically shows the Correct or Incorrect layer based on the user's answer. (This is the default when you insert a new question slide.)
When Attempts is set to a number >1, Storyline automatically adds a Try Again layer. The Submit__ trigger automatically shows the Try Again if the user answers incorrectly but hasn't used up their attempts. If there are no more attempts allowed after an incorrect answer, the Submit__ trigger shows the Incorrect layer.

helloatccw : Be sure your slide is set to show feedback, and be sure the Attempts field is set to the desired number that is >1.
If the problem persists, well, further troubleshooting is just guessing without seeing all the programming. Someone might be able to solve the issue if you upload the .story file. Here are the best practices for doing that:
- Only include slides that are related to the problem.
- Be sure objects, layers, motion paths, and variables have meaningful names.
- If there is proprietary content, replace or delete it. For example, replace proprietary text with “ipsum lorem” text.
Thanks Judy for your help. For some reason even though I had added attempts it didn't auto- generate the Try again. However, I went back to the original .story and started again and that worked. Thanks

Hello, I am facing a similar challenge, only that my question is manually added. I have the state change triggers in place selected, and normal. My questions some are multiple-choice and some single-choice. When I select a wrong choice and submit it takes me to the Retry layer, but once I click Retry and go back to the question layer that selected wrong choice stays selected. When I select a different one, it will also change state to selected and submit, but to the initially selected answer(the wrong one), it behaves as if i only have triggers for that first answer, even with the triggers set correctly. any help
Even when using a standard graded-question slide, all the Retry/Try Again layer does is close the layer. This allows the user to change their answer and click Submit again. However, the button doesn't reset the responses. In other words, a selected button will still be selected.
If you want to remove the user's previous choices, you have to add triggers to do that.
