    You can use this example to differentiate between the verb and noun pronunciations of the word progress.

    <speak>
    Noun: progress
    <w role="amazon:VB">Verb: progress</w>
    </speak>

Happy to chime in! The <w> tag suggested above works for standard and neural voices. Here's a list of supported SSML tags for both voices.
