Turn off Modern Player Menu and Controls Per Slide

I am familiar with the Player settings to completely turn on/off the modern player menu and controls. What I am seeking though is a programmatic way (JavaScript, trigger?) to access that particular setting mid-way through a course. Turning off the controls per slide in the slide settings works to a degree, but then there is still a huge buffer around the slide even when adjusting the browser window.

Here is what I am going for:

• The first module is a standard course with a menu/notes, title, seekbar, etc...
• The next couple of modules after that are more game-based, and I don' need any of the built-in controls or menus. Turning off all these features per slide doesn't expand the slide to maximize screen real estate like it would if you turned off modern player controls in the Player settings. I will be adding a custom full-screen button, but the responsiveness of the slide is not fully effective when simply hiding controls per slide.
