Updates to the quality of the text-to-speech narration voices?
As someone who has long used the built-in text-to-speech narration in Storyline, I am wondering if they are planning on updating the quality of the voices to something more realistic?
Given that many other companies have vastly more realistic alternatives (ex. Amazon's Polly), I was wondering if it was on Storyline's roadmap to catch up and either update their own player or integrate a better third-party product?
Hi Luke,
I appreciate you taking the time to share what you’d like to see in Storyline 360. We currently have this logged as feature request, so I’ll go ahead and include your voice. We’ll update this discussion if this feature makes it on our feature roadmap.
Have a great afternoon!
Hi Luke, I wanted to let you know that Storyline 360 Update 80 was just released. In update 80, you will see better versions of most of the voices when inserting TTS audio. These will show up in the same place as the standard voices, under “Neural Voices”. These are voices that sound more natural and human-like and are considerably higher in quality compared to the standard TTS voices.
A list of these voices can be found here. Updating Storyline 360 to the latest version is super easy, here is the guide in case you need it.
I hope you get the chance to try these new voices out and please let me know of any feedback (good or bad), around this enhancement. I’ll be happy to pass it along to our dedicated team of engineers.
All the best,
Michael Marcos
