Text-to-speech (TTS) now working...differently after update?
I have about 1,200 slides across 66 lessons. I was using "Mathilda" as the voice. Since the most recent update (around May 1), I now have to choose the voice on each slide and it no longer defaults to the most recently used voice (it keeps going back to Laura). I then click "insert voiceover," but now I also have to close the pop-up window. I get that Storyline won't bulk insert speaker notes, but the new method requires even more clicking.
So while I think a bulk import speaker notes and convert from TTS would be a useful feature, I'd at least like to get back to the version with fewer clicks.
Anyone have any advice for how to move more quickly? (Yes, I have used ChatGPT and asked but it's advice would have had me do at least at much work as I am doing now.)
Many thanks.

I also reported this. Quickest solution is to go back to previous version of Storyline as there is no way to make it stick to the last voice used.
Hi Aukalen,
Thanks for following up.
I see that my colleague Robby has been helping you through your support case. We've included your voice in the bug report that's being tracked, so we can update you as soon as a fix is in place. I'm sorry for the trouble!

Oh boy. I'd also like to know why Articulate also decided to change the slide transition without letting me know. I am moving 1,000+ slides into Storyline and want consistency. The software "update" made a decision for me and used a random transition pattern. Not cool.

Hi we are aware of the issue and will be fixing it so that when you click the TTS button in the ribbon, it won’t default to Laura. A workaround for now though is to click an existing TTS (from the list on the left) and click “New Voiceover”, and then it will keep the voice the same and even all the advanced settings. I hope that helps for now!

Thanks. Happy to learn that this is not a feature! I've seen folks asking about being able to change the voice, so the new TTS feature is almost certainly a good idea. I'm unlikely to need to do so many slides again, but a bulk import from PowerPoint and converting speaker notes to speech would be a good feature instead of the days I've spent (recognizing that, again, this is not a task I'm likely to face often).
