Using storyline with LearnDash

Hi all, 

LearnDash LMS has so far met our needs in hosting our courses but with some changes to my project there have been a few things I am unsure about that are annoying and costly to investigate so thought I would check if there is any answers here first. 

Design: I am having trouble with designing my lesson pages. It all works fine it just doesn't look very nice. I feel like it is all very blank as opposed to other online courses that people are used to where there is lots of text etc on the page and maybe some videos throughout. Because there is little information on the page and just the storyline course it looks rather blank. I'm just wondering if anyone that has embedded their storyline courses in LearnDash would be willing to share how they set up the design of their pages.

Embed as iframe or lightbox: What are peoples preferences and why? I originally embedded as an iframe to the page but didn't love that look, I am now trailing embedding as a lightbox on the page Anyone thing i need to be aware of that makes one option better than the other?

Integration: this is a long shot as its more a LearnDash question but has anyone successfully restricted user use to certain courses based on their status in another program. We are a member based org, all our members and what level of membership the person is, is kept in Salesforce. We want LearnDash to somehow recognise that the person logged in is a level 1 or level 2 salesforce member and provide access depending on this. Has anyone ever done something like this before?

    Hi Jessica,

    Design: You would generally use somebody with graphic design skills to design some layouts for you using any stock photography, illustrations and company brand guidelines you might have. There are some Storyline templates around that provide some layout example. If you are not keen on those, it's time to get a designer involved.  If you can present the content in an interactive way using carousels, accordions and simple click reveals, this might add some interaction to your modules.

    I think the iframe vs lightbox will be down to what meets your requirements best. If you are looking to maximise screen realestate for the module, then a lightbox might work better for you. Just be sure that whatever solution you would like to use, works on the target devices. For example, if targeting tablets, make sure it works well and looks good on those devices.

    The last question I would raise with LearnDash and post on their forums. From my experience they had pretty good tutorials and videos showing how you could set-up courses.
