Variable Volume Slider - Remember Position

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to create a variable slider which adjusts the background music on Storyline 360. I've created a slider which does this however, when the user would move to another slide the position of the slider which the user adjusted went back to its initial position.

For example I have a slider with 10 steps so volume 0 to 100%. The initial position is 100% so step 10 on the slider.

When the user slides the slider to the desired volume lets say 50% and clicks to next slide. Lets say they wanted to change the volume again the position has now went back to its initial position not where the user placed it.

Is there a way to make the slider remember where the user placed it on other slides?

  • Sounds like you're on the right track, but you need to ensure that every slider is pointed at the Background Audio variable.

When you duplicate a slider, it will also automatically create a new variable ('Slider_2', etc). You need to go into the slider settings on each slider and point it at the same variable for it to remember its position between slides.

Remember, each slider defaults to its own variable until you override it. To create the illusion it's just one slider appearing throughout your course, each slider needs to reference the same variable.
