Video audio degraded in Storyline
Hello! I've had the feeling that whenever I import a video into Storyline, the audio gets degraded (tinny, like there's a robotic 2nd track in the background). It was confirmed today when I imported a vid into Rise in two ways - one right into Rise using a multimedia block, and one using a Storyline block (wanted to add caption capability).
When I compare one right after the other, it's a marked difference. And it isn't merely a SL into Rise issue - my other videos that sound clear on their own are tinny after being published from Storyline to the LMS. Wondered if anyone has run into this or knows how to troubleshoot? Here is the Review 360 link to an example. Thank you!
Hi Sylvia!
Thank you for providing the Review 360 link! I can hear the difference between the two videos. It sounds like this is a frequent issue when you're publishing courses from Storyline 360 that include videos. Have you looked at adjusting the compression settings?
If you'd like our Support Engineers to take a look at your project, you can upload your project in a support case, and they'll have a look!

Hi Lauren,
Thank you for the swift reply! Yes, this does help, and I am playing with those compression settings. May I ask though, there is one option listed on your above link, that of setting the compression settings in the options ribbon. Unfortunately, it seems to be greyed out in the projects I open, so I was wondering what I could do to access that option. Than kyou!

Hi Sylvia,
Thanks for the follow-up! This article below shares more on that option, but it will be greyed out if you made any edits to the original video in Storyline, or you're using a different profile other than what Storyline accepts.

Thanks, Ren! That makes sense, though I can't claim I know enough about profiles. I'll explore this with my teammate, thank you for the solution!
