Video quality is impaired when publishing the tutorial

Hello,

I created screenshot videos using Storyline. The quality of the video is good in preview mode. When I publish the tutorial, the video quality is impaired although I chose higher video quality (9) in publish quality.

I also tried to cancel the compression option, but it appears to me in gray without the option co change the compression.

I would appreciate your help.

  • Hi Olga!

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue with video compression! I'd be happy to help troubleshoot and have some follow-up questions to start.

    • Are you publishing your Storyline course to Review 360, LMS, or someplace else?
    • Are the video quality impairments present across multiple browsers?
    • Have you used the trim feature on the video from your course? Our team is actively monitoring a bug that causes the compression setting of a video to automatically be greyed out when using Storyline's trim function.

If you would be willing to share a copy of your file here in the discussion or privately through a support case, we'd be happy to take a closer look and determine if you are being affected by the same issue. We'll delete it from our system as soon as we're finished!

Thanks for reaching out! Looking forward to hearing from you!

  • the setting "Video compression Automatic" has a big problem, which cannot be solved with the publish settings

    "Video compression Automatic"

    • slide is e.g. 960 x 540 px
    • video is 1920 x 1080 px
    • result on publish: video is always 960 x 540 px !!!
    • this was ok for the classic player with setting "Lock player to optimal size",
but NOT for modern player with fullscreen mode

    "video compression none"

    • slide is 960 x 540 px
    • video is 1920 x 1080 px
    • result on publish: video is unchanged 1920 x 1080 px

if you have problems with the video quality you have to indentfy the problem why storyline means your video is incompatible to browser and disables the setting "video compression none"
