Video with Black Frame
Hi there,
I have a video imported to Rise 360. It has a black border around it. (see attached)
Is there a way for me to remove the black border?
Please advise.

Hi there, JC. We generally recommend using videos that have a 16:9 aspect ratio to best fit the "container" for the video block in Rise 360. There isn't a way to remove the extra black space for videos with other dimensions, however.

Hi Winnie!
We'd love to take a closer look at this. Would you mind sending us your course Share link? If that works for you, you can send it privately by clicking here. Thanks!

Hi Kishore,
Thanks for reaching out! I wouldn’t expect to see a black outline around your video if the aspect ratio is 16:9. Would you be willing to share your video file so we can take a closer look? If that works for you, you can send it our way by clinking here.

Thank you Alyssa, the issue got solved.
If your team can provide flexibility to change the video background color to custom color would be great.
Thanks for the idea, Kishore!

Is there a resolution to this issue ?
I have embedded a video that is 16:9 ration and it still pads with black borders around the video - it just looks sloppy. This is the embed code :
<iframe width="1280" height="720" src="https://web.microsoftstream.com/embed/video/2b754536-99ac-4e11-b7ba-80b9b57cf96f?autoplay=false&showinfo=true" allowfullscreen></iframe> Hi Cathy! Do you see an improvement if you adjust the embed width setting to full width?

Can you please make an option to change the background colour behind videos transparent or a colour of our choice? The black bars look awful - mine are not 16:9 as they are screen captures of software and so both not consistent but also have to take into consideration scrolling mouse etc.

I have exactly the same issue as Susan and would really appreciate such a solution.
Hello Samira,
Happy to help!
You can click the "Style" button in the video block during edit mode to select a background color for the block.
I selected an image in my example above, but you are free to select any color you want. You can even enter the exact hex value of the background color of your video if you want the block background color to match.
