Videos in Storyline 360 Not Saving on Resume State in Docebo

Hi,

I am encountering an issue with videos placed in Storyline 360 not saving where the user left off when they close the course. I have troubleshooted by using the navigation Resume Saved State, including changing the player prompt from "Prompt to Resume" to "Always Resume". I also thoroughly searched the web and tried every option I read about.

However, I figured my best solution, or at least a hopeful one, is to connect with the E-Learning Heroes.

We are currently using Docebo as our LMS and have a large number of courses with videos incorporated.

Would anyone have a solution to the videos in Storyline 360 to "save at state" when the user exits the course?

  • Hi CarrieAnders421 I'm afraid Storyline does not save the users position in the video. When Resume Saved State is used, this is more in relation to the saved state of an interactions element states etc, but not the specific position in a timeline of video, audio or the slide.

Hi SamHill, Thank you for answering my question. So I will have to place cue points to allow the user to return using a button trigger.

      Much appreciated,

  • Could I use JavaScript and variables, rather than a button? I am interested in using AI.

Carrie you mentioned over on Docebo that you were putting together a guide for doing this.  Any luck with that?  Could you share your approach?  Thanks!

        Hi RussLickteig,

I saw your message on the Docebo community page. I've been busy with many projects.

Yes, I have documented and verified that it works correctly. However, some materials are not marked as complete in Docebo. I'm working on a solution to have these files properly recognized, which might involve consulting a Docebo developer.

I will upload the document and test files soon—more heads are better than one when solving these issues. Currently, I still need to set everything up for public use.
