Volume inconsistency

Hello, we have a lot of imported media (videos), but we also have imported audio from different VO artists in our different e-Learnings.  This has caused a volume inbalance all around and some slides are considerable louder/quieter then the previous or next ones... What is a quick fix for this other then visiting every single slide and raising/lowering volume?

  • Hi Deborah,

Thanks for sharing what you are experiencing with the volume across your project.

When publishing, I'd recommend the 'optimize audio volume' option to see if this helps the inconsistency. It's designed to assist in balancing volume across your course, as you can see in our documentation:

    • Mark the Optimize Audio Volume box to normalize audio throughout your course for consistent volume across all slides.

It is audio only and does not include the audio within video files.

If this doesn't fit the need or the video audio is the main culprit, you'd need to adjust them individually.

Hi, I had a similar issue and fixed it manually for each audio. On the computer, it works well now and sounds on similar levels, but on the phone, the difference is still big, the audios are lower than the videos. Is there any fix for this for the phones?
    Thanks

  • Hello Makers of Media, and welcome to the E-Learning Heroes Community! Glad you're here! ✨

    Thanks for reaching out!

I have a few questions in order to better assist you:

    • Could you please share what mobile devices you are currently using? If you are using an iPhone, could you also share what generation device and iOS version is currently running.
    • How are you creating your media files? Knowing where the video files have been created will be helpful!

It would be helpful to see your .story file in order to take a closer look. Feel free to share in this thread or privately in a support case.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
