Localization – How to customize the language selection screen in Rise 360 or Storyline 360?
We haven't done our Localization trial yet, but I did come across this article today.
Articulate Localization: Publish Multi-Language Rise 360 Courses | Articulate - Community
So if we're using an LMS we can publish multiple languages in one SCORM file then the learner can pick from one of the languages. I'm looking forward to testing that feature soon. I agree with Erick's need to customize the page to instruct the learner to select their preferred language. If they don't speak English, how would they know what to do? Especially because it's in a drop down menu. If there were buttons visible listing the languages it might make it more intuitive.
Right now, we build our Rise courses with bilingual branching and publish settings set to mark complete when they've reached 50% of the course (because that would mean they completed either the English or Spanish branch). At the beginning of the course, we have a language selection page. Depending on the learner's preference they are taken down one path or the other. AndrewBlemings- See screenshot for an example of our "homemade" language selector.
What I'd like to confirm is, when using the Localization feature, if the UI buttons can be set to display with the chosen language. Right now when we do bilingual courses we have to add bilingual text (Continue / Continuar) to the shared buttons, like in a Rise scenario block. This usually results in the text being too long for the button. We've recently tried to instruct the learners to click the >> button, eliminating the need to show both languages spelled out. Hopefully with Localization the need to add bilingual buttons and quiz questions would be eliminated. StevenBenassi can you confirm that the UI can be personalized to display only the chosen language when publishing multiple languages in one SCORM file?
Hi CRios!
Happy to help!
I can confirm that the UI of the language selection screen cannot yet be customized in any capacity. I understand the need for this functionality, and I've relayed your feedback to our product team.
In the meantime, if your goal is to only display one language to a learner, I suggest publishing that course as a single language SCORM package, in lieu of the multi-language option.
Please let me know if you need anything else!

Hi StevenBenassi,
Chiming in here as well, a huge +1 from me and my team. We need to be able to build our own "language selection" slides for example, just like a regular Storyline slide, so it can fit with the many branding rules we face for various clients. Additionally, if this is not possible the current 'slide' needs to be more clear/intuitive.
Thanks!

Hello PapaJohns,
Thanks for reaching out. I’ve added your feedback to the existing feature request, so you’ll be notified as soon as this feature is included in a future release.
Have a great day!
