When a learner downloads an attachment within a course, we've noticed that the file name changes. Please see attachments for an example.
Is there a solution to this problem? We would like the learner to be able to directly download and save the file, without having to change the file name.
Hi everyone! We fixed the issue in Rise 360 where extra characters were added to attachment block file names. Please have a look, and let us know if you have any further trouble with your attachment blocks!
Hi folks! I'm sorry you're getting this issue. We have this documented and we're keeping an eye on the issue. We'll let you know here as soon as we have updates!
Hi, Curtis and Karl. To clarify, is this happening when you're using the Share link for your course?
We are seeing this behavior limited to the Share link in any browser. If you've exported for web or LMS, you would only see these characters when downloading the attachment in IE.
I'm having this issue too. Only seems to be an issue in IE11 (which most of the Federal government still uses). I exported a course as Web, opened using local web server, clicked on a link (file attachment link in Rise) and the url in the URL bar reads "http://127.0.0.1/FAA/StandardizedCurriculum/export/content/assets/V5AF2VSUXaLOyea3_4H_uhV-p6zhMHw3a-Operational_Suitability_and_Operational_Integration.pdf"
What's up with the hieroglyphics before the actual file name?

Hi Angus!
Thanks for reaching out. I'm trying to recreate the issue on my end, but I haven't had any luck yet.
What web browser are you using to view the Rise 360 course? Do you see the extra characters added to the file name if you use a different web browser?
Yes, I am having this same issue. I am using Chrome and the document downloads with randomized letters and symbols. Was there any resolution on this?
Here is what happened to my document. It was uploaded as SolarWinds - ITGC Case Study
We are consistently having the same issue.

Hi everyone, any resolutions on this? Thank you
A customer of ours reported the same issue. Browser used is Chrome.
Any suggestions?
This issue happens for some of our attachments but not all of them.
I'm having the same issue. Many (most?) of the file names change to...(drumroll)... "Bill of lading." How bizarre!
