I want to include fill-in-the-blank questions that have no right or wrong answer. There is no way to account for the diversity of answers that students will provide in the 'possible answers' function, so instead I have feedback with some concepts that would be included in correct answers. Is there any way to disable the big 'correct'/'incorrect' response and just provide feedback on these questions? h
Hi Billy Joe! The Knowledge checks and quiz questions will always designate which are the correct answers in Rise 360.
It sounds like you need an open-ended question or survey-type question in Rise. We're tracking a feature request for this, and I've added you to this list.
As a workaround, users have had success with the following methods:
- Users have created an open-ended question outside of Rise 360 such as in Storyline 360, published to Review 360, and inserted it in an SL block in Rise 360. - Other users have used a 3rd Party form such as Google forms and inserted this in an embed block in Rise 360.
Please also note, that your other post is in a Storyline 360 section of the forums. A solution to that post will be different than for Rise 360. Hope that helps!
This is also a big issue for us in our products. I have built so many fill in the blanks under the assumption there doesn't have to be a correct answer because as a teacher that's why I've selected that interaction. I don't have the Storyline experience which is why I work in RISE. When do you foresee this change or solution happening? I'd really like to not have to do these work arounds if something is soon on the horizon to make that change...
Hi Jeff, thanks for sharing your thoughts on this feature. We hear you! We don't have updates on this at the moment, but we'll definitely share here if we make changes that will help!
Ditto to the previous 2 comments. Perhaps have an option / checkbox where it states "All answers are correct" - even if I add points to the 'incorrect' answers my LMS still displays it as 'incorrect'....even though ANY answer is correct.
This feature was requested 2 years ago, why has it not been added? At the least, we need the ability to not show incorrect answers on a multi-response question. PLEASE PLEASE MAKE THIS A PRIORITY
I'd like this feature in the "knowledge check" too. We need to include reflective questions with no correct / incorrect feedback. I would also like a short essay format that allows learner to compare input with a model answer.
I am adding my vote to the multiple years of requests for this feature. I know how to do the workarounds, but it would be so much easier if we could just do everything in Rise. Right now I create the survey type question in Quizmaker 360, then use Review 360 and Storyline 360 to be able to put it into Rise. Such a waste of time.
Thanks for sharing feedback on how this feature would streamline your workflow!
We currently have this logged as a feature request, so I’ll go ahead and include your voice! We’ll update this discussion if this feature makes it on our feature roadmap.
Adding to this long list of requests for this feature. Here's another explicit example of why not having this feature prioritized is concerning:
We're doing a microlearning on Emotional Intelligence. We're asking learners to identify one emotion that they're feeling from an emotion wheel. Whenever they submit an answer, the Rise360 response is "incorrect".
We'll obviously change the content to not have this situation happen for our learners, but this opportunity to expand their emotional vocabulary is limited by a feature that's been requested for nearly 3 years.
Any updates on when we might expect this feature? We've designed a large component of our elearning around having open-ended reflection questions and it is a huge downfall that this has still not been implemented, despite this post (and similar) being made almost 3 years ago.

Hello, Lisa. Knowledge checks will always require that you designate correct answers. Some alternatives to consider:
I have also posted a similar issue: I do not want the Correct / Incorrect to EVER show up. See the link for the other issue.

+10 to this request for an open-ended or survey type question, on behalf of myself and my entire team who need this functionality
Yes. Here too. It seems like a very simple thing to add.

Hello - I hope someone is following up on this because this seems like it would be easy enough to implement and many users would like this option.

Just adding to the chorous of requests for this feature.
The ability to insert questions without correct / incorrect feedback would be extremely helpful.
A previous posters request for a short essay format that allows the learner to compare their input with a model answer would also be a great addition.
I too would find this feature useful.
This feature is really needed and would allow IDs to use Rise for more reflection types of interactions, I hope it happens in 2024!
Hi Gloria!
Thanks for sharing feedback on the type of functionality you would like to see in Rise 360!
I've included you in the feature report being tracked, and will update this discussion as soon as we have news to share!
Have a great start to your week and happy authoring!
I'd like to add my name to the list of requests.
me too! I really need this function... Just posted a similar thread, before I stumbled onto this one...
