NEW IN RISE: Track course completion with a Storyline block

I’m excited to share the latest new feature in Rise: you can now track course completion with a Storyline block in Rise courses. It’s another great way we’ve made these two apps work together, giving you the best of both worlds: highly custom Storyline 360 interactions in responsive courses you build quickly in Rise.
This feature lets you customize how your Rise courses track completion in a learning management system (LMS). Now you can choose to track the completion of your Rise course in an LMS based on a trigger, quiz result, or number of slides viewed in your Storyline block.
Check out this quick video to see how it works:
Enjoy!

Am I able to get quiz results, not tracking, in Rise for my LMS?
AND, can I get quiz results from Storyline quiz block in Rise?
Hi Mikki,
Yes, you can get quiz results from quizzes built directly in Rise 360 or inserted via a Storyline block. Here's how to make sure the quiz score from your Storyline block gets sent to your LMS.
The main difference is that with the Storyline quizzes you won't be able to see question by question data (which responses the learner chose), you'll just see a score.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Once I import the storyline slide, select to track against, the LMS will no longer accept the zip file. I receive this error code :
Multi standards (AICC/ SCORM/ xAPI) are not allowed in one file. Please create a separate file per each (AICC or SCORM or xAPI) and try again.
If I delete the imported slide the LMS accepts the file again? Any thoughts?
Would using a storyline block help me to create a required video to be seen to completion?
When using just Rise, users can go right past the video without watching and it counts as 100% completed.
Hi there, Tim. Some LMSs, like Cornerstone, are showing this error message when uploading a Rise 360 SCORM package that contains a Storyline block. We're investigating solutions on our end. In the meantime, check out this solution!
Hello, Lauren! Try this technique:
Your learners will need to view the entire video before moving on in the lesson! Let me know how that works.
Hey Tim. I'm excited to let you know that we just released update 29 for Storyline 360! Here are all the details.
One of the fixes addresses an issue where a Tin Can file was showing up in Rise 360 courses that included a Storyline block, causing errors when uploading SCORM packages to your LMS.
Here’s how you can update Storyline 360. After updating, please republish your Storyline project to Review 360 as HTML5-only, and reinsert your Storyline block in Rise 360. Let me know how you make out!
Would be REALLY helpful to be able to choose more than one.
Is there an answer yet to Adam's question? I too would like to see the exact answers of each question for a Rise quiz. Is this possible..? Thank you in advance.
Hi Michael! Did you build the quiz directly in Rise 360, or did you design a quiz using a Storyline block?
If you built it directly in Rise 360, you should be able to see the answer breakdown data for each question in your LMS. Let me know if you're not able to see that data!
I built the quiz directly in Rise but I seem to not be able to get the exact answers to each question in my LMS. Good to know that it is supposed to send this data which will help me attempt to resolve this issue.
When I publish just Storyline courses I can get all this data sent to my LMS so I don't know why my Rise courses aren't working.. :(
I assume based on your response that a storyline 'block' will not track exact results in a Rise course though? I am not doing this but I still would like to know the limitations.
Sorry I'm dumb. I got the LMS to do the thing. Carry on.
Hi Michael! No self-deprecation allowed! I'm glad you were able to figure out how to get the data you needed. To confirm, yes, Rise 360 will send quiz data to the LMS for a Rise-authored quiz.
If you are tracking a Storyline quiz in Rise, it will send completion and success data, but you won't get the question level details. I hope that helps!
Bit of an old post but I am finding this very useful for a current project.
Que:
Is it possible to report a points score to the LMS from a SL quiz within Rise or will it always report a percentage score to the LMS.
Thanks in advance!
Hi Stephen! The Storyline block will always report a percentage score for the quiz. Thanks for asking!
Awesome thanks Alyssa!
Any possibility for adding 2 storyline blocks to the course (I have 2 separate branches) and making either option trackable towards completion? In other words, the user only needs to complete one or the other Storyline block.
Hi Megan! Right now, you can only choose to track one Storyline block. Thanks for the feature idea, though!
Hi Ashley or Alyssa @ Staff,
I see your response from 5 and 2 years ago about being able to add several Storyline blocks but can only choose one for LMS tracking method. Is this still the case? I have 4 blocks and would like to track all 4 for completion.
Thank you.
Hi Lynnette! Yes, it is still the same. You can add several Storyline blocks but can track only one.
More information can be found in this link.
Thank you for responding. Is this something I can put a request in for (tracking multiple blocks/different modules) as it seems other teams would benefit from it as well? I know we have several projects where it would be helpful. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Hi Lynette!
Thanks for sharing your need for an option to track multiple Storyline blocks in a Rise course. We're tracking requests for this feature, and I'll add you to this list. I'll update this thread once we have any updates that can help!
Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out tracking of student's activities, course progress and completion with Rise or Storyline or Storyline course embedded in Rise course! Tried all the things found online without any luck!
I'm using LMS build with WordPress with WPLMS theme/system for LMS.
Any help would be great!
Thanks in advance.
Hi Faruque,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
I see that you've opened a support case and you are working with my colleague Ian. You are in great hands!
We'll continue the conversation over in your support case.
Have a great day!
