Hi: I have used the custom labels in Rise before. However, it seems to have stopped working. The custom text for Start Course is set to Start but the opening page still has Start Course when previewing.
I'm sorry that you ran into this issue - it's something that we've recently reported to our team as a possible software bug.
From here, I’ll meet with my team to take a closer look so we can determine next steps. Sometimes my team catches errors in my logic and we don’t have a bug after all. Of course, if that’s the case, I’ll let you know!
Depending on priority and risk, some bugs can be fixed quickly, while others take longer to resolve. Here's more information on how we identify and tackle bugs.
One of the ideas to workaround this as our team investigates is to create a new set of the labels, and that one will allow for the updates. You'll see a example of this from my colleague Renato's Peek recording here (starts around 00:45 seconds).
I’ll let you know as soon as we have an update on this issue. Thanks so much again for letting us know about this, and I’m sorry it’s slowing you down.
I'm having the same trouble as Julia. I created a new label set and changed the text on one of the labels. I made sure that the label set is selected in my course settings. But the label doesn't change in the course.
I created a label set called Viewpoint. I changed the text on one of the embed labels (View On Youtube). I selected the Viewpoint label set for several courses. When I preview them, I don't see the changed label. As these courses are under development, I haven't published them.
I got your link, and I'm definitely seeing that the custom label is not applied when the video is embedded in an Accordion block. I'm going to bring this to my team to get more insight on why this is happening. I'll pop back in when I have more to share!
Following up to let you know our team is taking a closer look at this behavior. As soon as we get it straightened out, I'll come back around to give you an update!
I opened a project to update the "Start Course" button to "Open Guide," and I've noticed that it updated the "Start Course" button across ALL the course I'm listed as the owner on.
Is there a way to fix this so it updates the default button text for just the course settings I'm in, or do I need to create a fully custom button to get the change to apply to just one course?
As you have noticed, if you make a change to a label set that is also used by other courses, that change will appear in all of those courses. This is the expected behavior and not a bug.
If you want a label change to apply to only one course, you need to create a new custom label set that applies only to that one course.
Karl is spot on! When you edit text labels, the changes affect all your Rise 360 courses that use the same label set. For example, if you edit the built-in English label set, every course that uses that label set will automatically get the same changes.
We recommend creating a new label set when you need to customize text labels so you won’t accidentally change the labels in other Rise 360 courses.

I have the same issue in my projects. My courses are in French. But when I change the label on the Continue button, it stays in English. :-( I have tried creating a new label set and the problem is not solved. A little help would come in handy. :-)
I accidentally changed the English label set, specifically for processes from "Step" to "Check". I realized my mistake (I wasn't in my new label set) and changed the English label set back to "Step", however, my labels in the course are not reflecting the change even though the English label set is selected.
The course isn't published yet and I have viewed it in preview and still have the wrong labels showing.

Yes, re-labelling worked. Thanks.
Hi Brenda,
I wanted to update you that we pushed out a fix for this issue in Rise today - you can relabel the default labels in Rise.
Let us know if you need anything else.
OK. Thanks. Will give it a try!
Hello,
I am trying to create custom labels in Danish, but when I try and create a new custom set of labels they won't save. Please can you advise?
Thanks,
Julia
Hi Julia!
Happy to help you nail this down. First, which web browser were you using when this problem happened?
When you click Settings >> Labels >> Create New to create a new set of labels, do the new labels not appear in your Rise course?
Hi Alyssa,
I'm having the same trouble as Julia. I created a new label set and changed the text on one of the labels. I made sure that the label set is selected in my course settings. But the label doesn't change in the course.
Thanks,
Pam
Hi Pam!
Happy to help you sort this out! First, what label set are you using? The English set, or a new custom label set?
Also, is the Rise course already published? If so, you'll want to republish it to update the label set.
Hi Alyssa,
I created a label set called Viewpoint. I changed the text on one of the embed labels (View On Youtube). I selected the Viewpoint label set for several courses. When I preview them, I don't see the changed label. As these courses are under development, I haven't published them.

Hey Pam!
I recorded a quick video to show you what my custom Embed labels look like in Rise.
If that's not what you're seeing, could you also record a Peek to show me what's happening on your end?
Hi Alyssa,
Here's a link to my video. There's no audio. I wish my labels were behaving like yours! :)
Hey Pam, thanks for the video!
I noticed you never clicked on the Preview button in the upper-right corner. You'll want to click on Preview in order to see that custom label.
Let me know if that helps!
Hi Alyssa,
Previewing doesn't reflect the changes either. I've attached a screen shot of the embed from the preview window.
Thanks,
Pam
Hey Pam,
Hmm, seems like there's something going on here. Would you mind sending me your Rise "Share" link so I can view the course in my browser? Thanks!
Hi Alyssa,
Is there a way to send you the link privately?
Thanks,
Sure thing! You can send it to me privately right here.
Hi Pam,
I got your link, and I'm definitely seeing that the custom label is not applied when the video is embedded in an Accordion block. I'm going to bring this to my team to get more insight on why this is happening. I'll pop back in when I have more to share!

Hi guys,
I have the same issue in my projects. My courses are in French. But when I change the label on the Continue button, it stays in English. :-( I have tried creating a new label set and the problem is not solved. A little help would come in handy. :-)
Hi Paul.
Continue buttons are blocks, and therefore not part of the Label set.
You need to manually translate each Continue block, just like any other text block.
Hi Kristy.
I am glad to see that you have already reached out to our support team, and it looks like the issue has been fixed.
