Types of Video Files Compatible in Rise
Hi! I am having a hard time finding information on the types of videos available to upload in Rise. I am looking at a video software and want to make sure before we get it that I can put it in our Rise courses.
I know you can upload .mp4 videos to Rise, but can you upload .MOV , AVI , or .WMV files as well?
Thank you

lol answered my own question with a bit more digging into other RISE threads. Reference link above :)

Rise handles all of those standard video files.

Hi, current issue with importing AVIs I think. I imported AVI videos and Storyline corrupted my file. I converted the AVI to MP4 using Adobe Media Encoder and reimported into a backup version of the Storyline file and it didn't corrupt. Cheers.

Can I use a video from Content Library? I know I can put it into a SL360 course, publish and then insert as a SL block. Wondering if there is a quicker way? And when will the entire Content Library be available when I'm creating a Rise course?
Hi, Leanne!
It sounds like you tried importing a video file into Storyline 360, and your Storyline file was corrupted. So sorry that happened!
Storyline should convert AVI files to MP4, so you shouldn't have to use an outside tool to do that. We'd be happy to have a closer look at the video file, if you don't mind sharing it here. We'll delete it when we're done testing.

Does RISE convert the bigger movie files formats to make them smaller upon import or should I just do that via Media Encoder prior to uploading into RISE?
Thanks!
Awesome find, Rachel! Thanks for letting us know you solved it. 😁

I am trying to insert a MP4 file into RISE with a file size of 15,638,160 bytes. I have inserted other MP4 files into RISE without any issues. But I get the message that it could not be loaded because the format is not supported or the server /network failed. I have a very strong internet connection.
Hi there, Susan. That doesn't exceed our 5 GB limit. If refreshing your page, or trying in a private browser window doesn't help, can you privately share the mp4 file with us? We'll delete it when we're done troubleshooting!

Thanks - I tried refreshing the page and viewing it in a different browser. That did not work; however,I re-recorded my file, and it uploaded fine. Go figure! Thank you, anyway; I love RISE by the way
That's great news, Susan! And I'm glad you're loving Rise. ☺️
