Presenter 360: Adding and Editing Annotations
Use annotations to highlight important slide content at just the right time with arrows, checks, crosses, rectangles, and spotlights. You can format annotation colors, sizes, and effects to fit your course design. And now you can use the all-new timeline in Presenter 360’s consolidated narration window to easily adjust annotation durations and timings.

Recording Narration and Adding Annotations at the Same Time
You can add annotations at any time to any slide. You can even add annotations on the fly while recording narration. You have complete control over annotations in Presenter 360.
To add annotations while recording narration:
- First, decide if you want to display one annotation at a time or allow multiple annotations to show at the same time. Click either the single-annotation icon or the multiple-annotations icon on the ribbon. (If you change your mind, you can adjust durations and timings for existing annotations later.)
- Select the type of annotation you want to use. Click Arrow, Check, Cross, Rectangle, or Spotlight on the ribbon.
- Click the Record button to begin recording your narration.
- As you record, click the slide where you want an annotation to appear.
- If you need to pause while you’re recording, click the pause button. To resume recording, click the pause button again. Sometimes, it’s helpful to pause when you need to switch to a different annotation type (arrow, check, cross, rectangle, or spotlight).
If, at any point while you’re recording, you want to clear the slide of annotations that are currently showing, click Clear on the ribbon. This won’t delete your annotations. It’ll simply hide them at the point on the timeline when you clicked the Clear button. - When you’re done recording, click Stop Recording.
Adding Annotations Without Recording Narration
In Presenter 360, you can now add annotations at any time, not just when you’re recording narration. And it’s so easy! Here’s how to add annotations after you’ve recorded or imported audio:
- Select the type of annotation you want to use. Click Arrow, Check, Cross, Rectangle, or Spotlight on the ribbon.
- Click the slide where you want the annotation to appear. (It’ll default to three seconds in length, but you can adjust its duration.)
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each annotation you want to add.
Tip: If you’d like to annotate the slide as you listen to your narration and watch the animations, click the play/pause button on the ribbon, then follow the steps above to add annotations where you need them. Don’t worry about being perfect. You can adjust annotation durations and timings later.
Formatting Annotations
To change the style of an annotation, select it on the slide stage or in the timeline panel, then use the Fill, Outline, and Effects options on the ribbon to format it.
Adjusting the Duration of Annotations
To change the duration of an annotation, select it in the timeline panel, then drag its left or right edge until it’s the length you want.
If you want an annotation to show until the end of the slide, right-click it in the timeline panel and choose Show Until End. Annotations that show until the end of the slide have a right-facing triangle pointing to the end of the slide.
Fine-Tuning Annotation Timings
To change when an animation appears and disappears, just drag it along the timeline until it’s where you want it.
If you don’t want an annotation to disappear after it enters the slide, right-click it in the timeline panel and choose Show Until End.
Deleting Annotations
There are two ways to remove an annotation:
- Select it and press Delete on your keyboard.
- Right-click it in the timeline panel and choose Delete.
