Presenter 360: Adding a Sidebar Video
Presenter 360 lets you add videos to the sidebar of your course, one for each slide. They're great for narrating a course or supplementing slide content.
- Go to the Articulate tab on the PowerPoint ribbon, click the Video drop-down arrow, and choose Add Sidebar Video.
- Browse to the video you want to use and click Open. Presenter supports these video file formats:
- 3G2
- 3GP
- ASF
- AVI
- DV
- M1V
- M2V
- M4V
- MOV
- MP4
- MPE
- MPEG
- MPG
- QT
- WMV
- When the Add Sidebar Video window appears, set the following properties:
- Do not compress video at publish: Mark this box if you don't want the video to be compressed in your published output. It’ll increase video quality, but it'll also result in larger file sizes, which could be problematic for learners with slow Internet connections. (This feature is only available for MP4 videos created with baseline, main, and high profiles.)
- Alternate Text: Enter a description in this field to help learners with screen readers understand the content.
- Use the play/pause and stop buttons to preview your video.
- To switch to a different video, click the blue file name below the thumbnail image and browse to another video file.
- Click OK to insert the video. A video placeholder image will appear to the left of the slide stage to indicate that there’s a sidebar video for the slide. The image won't show in your published course. If you delete the image, the sidebar video will also be deleted.
Tips for working with sidebar videos:
- The maximum dimensions for sidebar videos are 220 pixels wide by 167 pixels high. If your video is larger, Presenter will scale it to fit and maintain its aspect ratio for best results.
- Sidebar videos are synchronized with the slide. As a result, learners can use the slide's play/pause button and seekbar to control video playback.
- Sidebar videos are currently supported in the standard desktop player but not the responsive mobile player.
