Creating Animated Characters in E-Learning #163

Character Animation in E-Learning #163: Challenge | Recap

Challenge of the Week

This week, your challenge is to share an example of character animation in e-learning. Your entry can feature characters walking, running, talking, jumping, or any combination of actions.

NOTE: Your entry can be anything from a rough concept to a polished example. The challenges are open to everyone, regardless of experience or skill level. If you need technical or creative help with your project, please ask in our forums and reference the challenge number you’re working on.

For ideas and inspiration, take a look at the following examples to help you get started with this week’s challenge.

Heroland Adventure Game

Fantastic example of character animation used in a real-world project. You’ll want to set aside some time to go through this amazing game.

Animated Walking Character

Here’s a good example (with source file!) for getting started with character animation. The walking cycle is short and simple and used primarily as an entrance animation effect. And because the animation isn’t looping, there aren’t as many details to worry about.

The Fast and the Compliant

Not only is this a good example of animated characters in a game-like setting, it features some hilarious feedback ideas.
