Share Your Holiday Themed E-Learning Examples #185

Holiday E-Learning Interactions #185: Challenge | Recap

Challenge of the Week

This week, your challenge is to share a holiday-themed interaction. Feel free to give any one of your previous challenge entries a “holiday makeover” or create something new for the challenge. To help you get started, I've rounded up some creative examples of holiday interactions shared over the past few years.

Elf Street Fighter

Here’s a fun take on the classic video game, Street Fighter. What’s even cooler is that all the game graphics (characters, backgrounds, objects) were created with Storyline. Prepare  for battle!

I played with xAPI last year, so I repurposed and repackaged that version for 2017. The theme is xAPI Santa. The point is you can send a gift (a lesson learned from 2017), and xAPI Santa will deliver it. How it works is you actually send a statement to an LRS store with your lesson learned. In return, you see every else's gifts they sent. So, it's a virtual gift xChange. You don't have to send a "prezy," you can just read others if you want. But the more we contribute to the community, they we receive. The more prezies you open, the more points you get. At the end, you can take a screenshot (built-in button). Share the screen after on social media! https://www.rabbitoreg.com/examples/prezy/story.html Happy gifting! And if you have nothing to do, grab a favorite drink and read ... Expand

I upgraded a brain teaser game I created before from Storylin2 to Storyline360, and added a Christmas-themed for this challenge. It is totally created in Storyline360 now, no JS. However, there were several challenges when making it work. 1. Random number set for each code number, but four code numbers have to be different from each other. 2. Refresh the code number when clicking play agian but not restart the course.(I don't want to jump back to the very first slide) 3. The most difficult one is to detect if the guess numbers are the correct code. I can't use freeform quiz since users get ten chances to guess the correct numbers, and it has to be done in the same slide. I would like to write an article about how I overcome these challenges when I got time. Hope you enjoy it.... Expand

Hi LJ, I loved the graphics! It really looks like a mobile game, and surprisingly I could find most of the correct answers:) While starting, I missed that star too. I think if START button doesn't appear before the player sees the instructions, you might not need to add a glowing animation, or you can remove the snow on it, and change the color a bit to make it more distinctive. I would use some music while starting, and cartoon sound effects for the answers. Orangefreesounds has a really nice sound effects collection and background music, you might want to have a look there. I like the getting extra stars from the forest. One more thing, if questions are shuffled, it can bring more excitement. By the way, bonus points, at the end, is an element which I will definitely use in m... Expand
