1885 TopicsKeeping SCORM package small, best practices?
Are they any documents or guides that already exist for best practices while designing in Rise to ensure you don't end up with a massive SCORM file at the end? If not, can anyone add to this list of recommendations to avoid this issue in the future (for now, without use of an external tool): -Compress any possible video/ image assets and pay attention to file size as you upload -When designing in an external tool (Canva, Adobe CC, Adobe Express, etc.) make sure to watch your file size upon download -Be mindful of use of AI audio generated within Rise, larger file sizes -Be mindful of GIFS, background image file size, etc. Anyone else have anything to add or know of any existing resources for this kind of guidance? Additionally, any documentation from Articulate of how much size interactive blocks, custom blocks, or anything else that might take up additional data and need to be considered for usage would be very helpful. As the eLearning community drives toward more innovation, creativity, and interaction focused around a better end user experience, I am finding it difficult to navigate the balance of this with functionality without fully knowing the sandbox we have to play in (Rise current barrier, easier to see in Storyline).13Views2likes2CommentsRevisiting a Slide Functionality
I have a request that I believe cannot be accomplished, but I want to poll the group and see if there's a way to trigger the slide to know it's being revisited and behave somewhat differently. Here's a verbatim copy of the request I received, and my actions/comment in italics. Design/functionality comment: Please remove the No Next verbiage and grey out Next until all interactions have been selected. to do this, I removed the no next (verbiage) layer then added an object trigger to set the state of Next Button to Normal when the state of all of the ovals is Visited. The result is the next button is greyed out until the learner clicks each button. So that works as desired. Design/Functionality comment: Please have slide reset to initial state upon revisiting (but leave Next available) this is the one I am going to tell her no on since I don't believe you can have it both ways. If it's reset to initial state, then logically, the next button is back to disabled. If she wants them to be able to revisit AND move freely, then it cannot be reset to initial state. Is my comment on number 2 correct? Or is there a way to return to initial state but also ignore the object trigger I made (in #1 above) when revisiting?29Views0likes2CommentsFilter like Excel inside course
Hello, I am building a process-based course for people working in a laboratory. There are 9 different machines that are in the process the person has to use. I did the initial storyboarding in Microsoft Excel, because the process isn't strictly linear. For example: Turn on Machine A. It takes 30 minutes to warm up. Turn on Machine B. Do process 1 and 2. Turn on Machine C. Do process 1. On Machine B, do process 3. When Machine A beeps, you have 90 seconds to do process 1. So, when I job shadowed the technician, I wrote out the information in the order he does the work. When teaching someone new, he may want to do the entire process, but he may want to run it machine-by-machine, depending on the learner. With Excel, I have a column for the overall step process and another column for the step on a given machine. Filtering makes it easy to toggle between machine specific or full process views. For the moment, I'm building it in Rise with each machine as its own lesson. Long term, I think doing this in Storyline and putting some variables on each slide might be a better way to do this. I'm thinking I'd build the process by machine (in each scene). Then I'd rearrange the slides into the process order. The learner could then choose to view as full process or toggle for just one variable to be seen. Is there a better way to do this? What haven't I thought of that could make this easier?Solved30Views0likes2CommentsRise course recovery after deletion
Hello, In April 2025, I created a course in Rise 360 using a free trial account. Today, I subscribed to Articulate with the expectation that I’d be able to access that course, but it appears the course has been deleted. Is there any way to recover a Rise 360 course that was created during a free trial and is no longer visible after subscribing? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.18Views0likes1CommentGrid and Alignment?
I am not sure what I did wrong but when ever I try to align and group shapes, icons or text boxes they don't line up correctly. I want to group a Shape, Icon and Text box together, but when I do it makes the "Group Box" twice the size than the shape? I am not sure what I am doing wrong? I have gone into the "Grid and Guides" pop out and I unchecked everything and I am still having the same issue?18Views0likes1CommentAI Upgrade - Getting it Across the Line
I really want to get the AI upgrade for our licenses, however, the business I work for is a little adverse to implementing AI tools due to risk concerns. (I work in the financial services industry). I am preparing a business case and would love to hear about other people's experiences on how they were able to get their case across the line. Links to relevant information in the IT space etc. Just looking for the best approach and what sort of governance has been put in place.30Views1like3CommentsSCORM File Upload Failed: SuccessFactors
Howdy friends! I'm here seeking an answer that seems to be a mixed bag of sorts. We're trying to get a couple of courses uploaded and SuccessFactors keep throwing back a "Failed" status. The error log is quite robust, but it keeps pointing to a .jpg file within the SCORM itself. However, even after removing it and redownloading the file, it's still there?? I'd rather not clog this discussion with the whole error, but I went through the whole thing.. the error with the .jpg is the only one. Has anyone had this issue before? What did you do to solve it? I went through each file in the SCORM and didn't find any spaces or special characters. We also have a file size limit in our system (200MB) and these files are well below that. Basically, as the title suggests; I would like to trigger a number of animations with the click of a button, but I need them staggered - the first two animations begin immediately, and then the remaining animations begin a second later. I have staggered them in the timeline, but they continue to begin all at the same time. I am losing my mind! Please help! Thank you. Storyline 360 3.103.35301.020Views0likes2CommentsLicencing issues
Hello I work for an NHS Trust. We have 21 StoryLine 360 licences, managed by a dashboard with NHS discounts. I wanted to upgrade 3 licences to the AI version of Storyline 360. Our UK reseller Omniplex informed our team that we would either have to remain on the standard Articulate 360 licence or upgrade all 21 licences to the AI version. The team who use 18 of the licences don't need the AI version, only my team of 3 do. As a direct result of this we are not renewing 15 of the 21 licences, they I understand have already been cancelled with Omniplex. We will be keeping the standard version of Articulate 360 but, we are looking at moving to the New Captivate, which includes AI as standard. My team and I do not particularly want to move away from Articulate. Is there away to supply only the three StoryLine 360 AI licences we require when we renew in January. Our experience has been the subject for discussion at other NHS organisation who have an interest in the outcome.31Views0likes2Comments
