I've been looking around for the specific page mentioning the terms and conditions of use, data handling, partners, and types of data used/sent during the use of AI Tutor in a course published to a LMS. Many sources point to the 'Articulate's privacy, security, and data processing standards' as a general place to start. https://www.articulatesupport.com/article/Rise-360-Using-AI-Tutor didn't link directly to a terms/privacy page specifix to AI Tutor. This page implies that the contents of both the course and anything the learners might type in will be shared with third party AI service providers, seemly OpenAI. What document describes Articulate's relationship with these third parties should those parties change their own terms or privacy documents? The terms and conditions / privacy links mentioned at the bottom of the tutor itself lead only to the general Articulate terms / privacy pages, which do not at this time have any mentions or references to articles or terms about AI Tutor specifically. I wasn't able to find anything on https://www.articulate.com/trust specific to AI Tutor. Articulate 360 Security Policy pdf predates the implementation of AI Tutor. Your Artie-ai bot pointed me at these old documents https://cdn.articulate.com/assets/pdfs/Articulate_360_Security_Policy_2023.pdf and https://cdn.articulate.com/assets/pdfs/Global_Data_Security_and_Privacy_2023.pdf and https://www.articulate.com/trust/privacy/ and https://cdn.articulate.com/assets/pdfs/AI-Security-and-Privacy-at-Articulate.pdf .15Views0likes0CommentsAI Assistant in RISE
I am building very specific training and need the AI assistant to create the course based off a PowerPoint word for word, but I've noticed when I uploaded, it changes the wording. Is there an option with AI Assistant to go word for word? I see I can do magic text import which keeps word for word, but the magic lesson import is greyed out. Any suggestions? The training I'm creating is for Sales and it's very technical! I've been using Subject Matter Experts for the content and they have approved so I dont want to change it!Solved30Views0likes3CommentsNew in Rise 360: AI-Generated Captions (Beta)
We’re thrilled to introduce a new way to make your Rise 360 content more accessible with less effort. You can now generate closed captions for course videos with AI Assistant, saving time and effort while supporting learners of all abilities. Whether you’re uploading a new video or working with existing media, AI Assistant can create captions automatically during upload or with a single click later. And if you want to make changes, the built-in captions editor makes it simple to fine-tune wording, timing, splits, merges, and more—all while previewing how your captions will appear in context. Check out the user guide to learn more. Give Feedback AI-generated captions are in beta, and we’d love your feedback. After generating captions, you can use the thumbs-up or thumbs-down option that appears in the lower-right corner to let us know how it went. You can also share your experience in the comments below. Happy captioning!Solved702Views6likes20CommentsJapanese AI Text-to Speech Quality
Has anyone had success using a particular voice for the AI Text-to-Speech for Japanese? I have tried several and continue to get feedback that the text-to-speech quality is very poor, and some voices randomly mix Japanese, Chinese, and Korean accents even within a single paragraph. All of the translated audio text has been thoroughly reviewed and is accurate. Here are the latest voices I have tried and the general feedback received: Alva: Good (the voice used in the course) Akira: Poor Hajime: Poor Gojo: Acceptable Ken: Good (possible alternative, but does not address the root cause) Masa: Acceptable In the Advanced settings, I have Multilingual v2 selected for each one. Note that even for the voices marked good or acceptable, the reviewer still indicates that the quality is not at a level that they feel can be used. They believe the root cause is that the program invoking text-to-speech does not consistently retain the selected voice option and that it incorrectly auto-detects the language and switches voice options even within a single sentence. I am not sure how to respond to that. I would appreciate any insights anyone else has about this topic!417Views0likes4CommentsScore is reported to the LMS before the final Result Slide
I'm working on a Storyline 360 course with three separate module assessments. Each module uses a question bank and presents a set of random questions. After each module, I only want to display a Pass/Fail message without sending the score to the LMS. The learner's overall score should be calculated and reported only after all three modules are completed and they reach the final Result Slide. To do this, I removed the Submit Results trigger from the three module Result Slides and kept it only on the final Result Slide. However, when I test the course in SCORM Cloud, the learner's score is still being sent to the LMS after completing the second module, even though they haven't reached the final Result Slide. Is this expected behavior in Storyline 360? If so, is there a supported way to prevent the score from being sent to the LMS until the learner reaches the final Result Slide?Rethinking Storyline's Accessibility Checker Guidance on Accessible Video Controls and Autoplay
Storyline’s new accessibility checker is a very useful tool and can be leveraged to create more accessible courses. However, the guidance on disabling autoplay and turning on accessible video controls appears misguided. The following course passes the accessibility checker but has two playback controls that are not synced together. Please visit the Inaccessible Course Example. This design would not be very usable or accessible. For context, the courses I am working on include transcripts in each course's notes section. Can someone show me an example where the accessible video controls feature is implemented successfully? Is there a way to avoid duplicate player controls? Why can’t the transcript feature be included in the main Storyline player? Including the transcript feature could alleviate the need for accessible player controls and improve the learning experience. Also, it would be great if the AI workflow could create captions and add a transcript automatically. This would be a significant time saver. The accessibility checker should prompt the author to check the captions and transcript to ensure they are accurate as well. Another issue is the autoplay setting. The accessibility checker makes it seem straightforward to turn off autoplay. The author needs to set the option “Play video” to when “clicked” or “triggered.” Unfortunately, this change causes the Storyline Player to not control or stay in sync with the video. Implementing autoplay globally across a course appears to be much more complex. The University of California’s Office of the President has an article called, Avoiding Autoplayed Media. This article goes into the technical steps required to configure autoplay for a slide or a course in Storyline. It does not reference the “Play video” toggle. Instead, the author must leverage triggers and variables in the project to stop slides from autoplaying globally. In this example, I configured a trigger to stop the video when the rectangle appears on the slide. I configured another trigger to start the video when the rectangle leaves the slide. I also used guidance from How to Pause and Sync Videos with Timeline in Storyline 360. This is because by default, Storyline enables “Pause on click.” However, the video can get out of sync with the timeline if clicking on the video pauses it. This technique creates a variable to track when a user clicks the video to ensure it stays in sync with the Storyline player. This technique is necessary to ensure the learner does not get the timeline out of sync with the video. This No Autoplay Course Example incorporates those techniques. Is there an easier way to stop slides from autoplaying? Would Articulate consider adding an autoplay option to Storyline’s player? If Articulate included this option as part of the player controls, it would be significantly easier to implement and be available on most Storyline courses. This would allow learners to toggle autoplay on or off, similar to how platforms such as YouTube operate. Authors would not need to dedicate time to configure this option. My last suggestion is to consider incorporating a manual check tab in Storyline’s accessibility checker. The checker currently does not guide authors on how to review the focus order of each slide. The checker could provide guidance on how to use the focus order tool and check the color contrast of each slide. It could also provide information about accessible button names and how to ensure they are consistently represented across button states. For example, PowerPoint will flag a slide as having a read order issue if the order is different than how the content is presented visually on the slide. The author must manually check the read order to confirm that it is correct. Storyline could implement a similar feature or use AI to provide some guidance on potential focus order issues. Thank you for your time, and I appreciate any feedback you can provide.178Views2likes3CommentsCombine CC in Closed Caption Editor
Wouldn't it be amazing if there were a function in the Closed Captions Editor that let you just click to say "Combine with Previous" or "Combine with Next"? This will save so much time when the AI-generated CCs are too short, and at the moment, you have to manually add that CC to the next or previous one. Camtasia from TechSmith has this feature, and I cannot tell you how much I miss that feature here in the beloved Articulate Rise or Storyline. Especially because of WCAG regulations.35Views1like1CommentAI - audio edit issue
I am unable to edit AI-generated audio. When I right-click an existing MP3 file and select "Replace with AI Text-to-Speech," the audio is generated successfully. However, when I try to edit the same audio later using AI Text-to-Speech, the editor opens with a blank screen and no text is displayed for editing. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, please let me know if there is a solution or workaround. Thank you.
