Hello New Community, My name is Laura Cervantes, and I work for JSI, Inc., a telecommunications consultant, located in Lubbock, Texas. Although I have upwards of 30 years of experience in the field the Fiber Optic Networks, I am new to the field of E-learning. What I lack in hands on experience with teaching & creating training content, I make up for with my desire to share best practices & standards along with my desire to see the next generation grow, learn, excel, and succeed. Hi Everyone! I'm Chandler, and I am very new to this world... I actually come from a medical background, but it really was not my passion in life. I had 2 niche degrees, 3 years into a career I didn't enjoy, and no clue where to go next. But hey... turns out skills are transferable! I took the leap in investing in myself and learning new things. I got a job at a new company that I knew literally nothing about but I was willing to put the work in to learn. Turns out it was a great move on my part because I was introduced to Learning & Development. Here, I have really found a passion for training and developing individuals. I recently moved into a role as a facilitator for in-person and virtual trainings, but I have always enjoyed anything that allows me to be creative. I have just been introduced to the creation of e-learning and Articulate by a coworker on my team. I have been enjoying learning the platform and expanding my skill set :)💗Hello!
My name is Samantha Shoner. I'm currently working as a teacher in Japan, but I'm planning on returning to the US next year and have been considering a career change to Instructional Design. I'm new to this industry, and I still have a lot of questions. I have a degree in Digital Media and 11 years of teaching experience. I hope that will be a good starting point. Hello everyone, My name is Shruti, and I’m from India. I’m very happy and excited to be a part of this e-learning community! I see this community as a hundred helping hands supporting us on our e-learning journey. I’ve always believed in the power of teamwork, and I’m excited to now be a part of such an excellent community. I started my Instructional Design journey in 2022 and have worked on several academic projects. However, I honestly feel that I still have a lot to learn, especially when it comes to storyboarding and corporate learning modules. I’m still learning and currently building my portfolio through voluntary work and personal projects using Articulate Storyline and other tools. Hello everyone. My name is Maribel, I'm Colombian, living in Montreal. I'm new to instructional design; I literally discovered this path a month ago after being lost for almost 2 years (career-wise). I recently moved to this country, and being an immigrant is like pressing a reboot button because you have to reinvent yourself completely; at least that was my case because I'm not a conventional worker.
