Drop-down menus are a great way to consolidate navigational elements when slide space is limited. They come in all shapes, sizes, and design styles. But drop-down menus aren’t just for slide navigation. They’re an excellent addition to any e-learning toolkit. Some common uses include:
Slide navigation: Jump to another layer, slide, or scene using the menu’s sub-navigation links.
Personalization: Choose from a list of options that personalize the course material for the learner.
Quizzes: Select the correct choice, item, or phrase from a drop-down list of choices for vocabulary, language, and grammar interactions.
Resources: Provide learners with slide-specific handouts, documents, job aids, and more.
To help kick off this week’s challenge, take a look at some creative drop-down menu examples course designers have shared in the community.
This week, your challenge is to share an example of a drop-down, fly-out, or pop-up menu effect in e-learning.
If you’re new to course development, try using the shared source files to help you get started. Don’t worry about how your menu looks as much as creating a functional example.

A bit late this week! Something simple and cute which allowed me to practice adding cue points (I've always been a "time" user) and tinkering with triggers with got a little complicated. I still can't figure out how to animate the arrows, which I thought would be simple.
Very pretty design. The colors and the pictures worked wll. The drop downs worked well but I was confused by the pull down menu for a while. I finally understood that it was used to change between the two versions of drop-down entries. Maybe you could clarify that or just offer the two choices on a side menu without the requirment to drag it down.
I like the structure of the navigation but for me, the icon in the center of the dial was confusing. I kept grabbing the arrows and dragging them in a circular motion which of course was ineffective.
Rustam, great work. If you wanted to do something about the icon in the center of the dial you could have a hover state change with text that says close menu.
Hi! This is my very first entry. This is part of a prototype project to explore medical careers for undergraduate students considering a pre-med track. Drop-downs are used to expand and collapse information boxes.
Nice work. I like the layout of the slide. Unfortunately, I equate the cliquable buttons with the dropdown text as an accordion. For the drop down menu, I would expect the contents behind the drop down to also have cliquable links. Maybe that is just me.

You could have them change states each time an off screen animation completed.
1. Add a shape off screen. 2. Give it a 1 second motion path 3. Change states 3. Repeat the motion when the animation completes

Very pretty design. The colors and the pictures worked wll. The drop downs worked well but I was confused by the pull down menu for a while. I finally understood that it was used to change between the two versions of drop-down entries. Maybe you could clarify that or just offer the two choices on a side menu without the requirment to drag it down.

I like the structure of the navigation but for me, the icon in the center of the dial was confusing. I kept grabbing the arrows and dragging them in a circular motion which of course was ineffective.

Rustam, great work. If you wanted to do something about the icon in the center of the dial you could have a hover state change with text that says close menu.

Nice work. I like the layout of the slide. Unfortunately, I equate the cliquable buttons with the dropdown text as an accordion. For the drop down menu, I would expect the contents behind the drop down to also have cliquable links. Maybe that is just me.
