Using LEGO in E-Learning  #180: Challenge | Recap

Creative use of LEGO bricks is a great way to engage and motivate kids in the classroom. Try a quick Google search and you’ll find tons of fantastic resources to help teachers design focused learning activities with LEGO.

Here are just a few examples of how teachers can use LEGO bricks to help students learn about:

• Colors and patterns
• Historical events
• U.S. geography, states and capitals
• Sight words and sentence building
• Particle physics, fission and fusion, and the creation of the universe
• Basic structural engineering
• Symmetry

While most of the examples and resources are designed for hands-on classroom activities, there’s nothing stopping the world’s largest and brightest e-learning community from transforming static LEGO lessons into interactive learning experiences. And that’s what this week’s challenge is all about!

Challenge of the Week

This week, your challenge is to create a short, interactive lesson using LEGO. You can pick any topic you like for your example. The only constraint is that you need to use LEGO bricks (real, illustrated, 3-D, photos, etc.) as the primary teaching tool.
