Activity with Percentages / Calculations
Hi, I'm fairly new to Articulate and wondering if this is doable and if so, how...?
I'm designing a learning for someone in Storyline and they asked for an activity that asks someone to evaluate how much time they spend with different groups. So they would have 100% of their time and then they can divide that time amongst 5 groups. This seems harder because it's not a right/wrong type question it's just them acknowledging and taking the moment to think about where they're time is going.
So the system would need to be able to know that it started with 100% and now 30% has been taken for this group so there's 70% that needs to go to the other 4 groups.
Does that make sense? Is that possible?

That's pretty forward with six data entry fields numeric variables; one for each of the five groups and one for the total. You can set up triggers that recalculates the total whenever one the group variables changes.

Here is a sample that fills a shape according to user-entered values. It always assumes 100%. The calculations are done by adding together the four (easy enough to add another) entries, and finding the what the individual percentage is. The early triggers are the ones that you need for the calculation. If you don't want the shape, don't use the triggers that change the state of the four colors. If you want the raw numbers, or percentages, use a reference to show the appropriate variable.
