Audio in layers not playing when revisiting

Aug 25, 2021

Hi everyone,

I have 5 buttons on the base layer, linked to 5 layers (each with text and a matching audio file). I also have a prompt on the base later asking the learner to click on each of the buttons - this will then change once all the buttons are clicked and a "next" button will appear. I also have 5 corresponding blocks (off-screen) with visited states. I have created a transparent shape over all the buttons (I call this the blocker), because I want the learner to be forced to listen to each audio clip before selecting the next button. The blocker's initial state is set to "hidden". I don't want to hide each layer as the text will then hide as well.

My triggers on the base are as follows:

1) A trigger for each button to go to each layer.

2) A trigger to change the prompt state from normal to hidden once all the off-screen blocks are visited.

3) A trigger to change the "next" prompt and "next" button state from hidden to normal once all the off-screen blocks are visited.

On each layer, my states are:

1) Change the state of blocker to Normal when the timeline starts on this layer

2) Change the state of blocker to Hidden when the timeline ends on this layer

3) Change the state of (the corresponding block off-screen's) state to visited when the timeline ends on this layer.

I have checked everything, and it ALL works! My slide properties are set to "Reset to initial state", but when I try to click on my buttons again, the audio in the layers DO NOT play again.

What have I done wrong?

The buttons trigger the layers, the blocker becomes active so you can't click on any other buttons, the audio starts, the timeline finishes, the off-screen block changes to visited, and you can click on another button...this continues until the prompt changes...Please help! I need to be able to listen to the audio again if I want to!

Thank you!
