Cornerstone (CSOD) report Storyline text responses

Jan 06, 2021

We have created a Storyline module that contains various questions and wanting employees to go through this module and provide a response to the questions in a short answer format, noting that we are just wanting a response and no text response given will be marked as incorrect. We are then wanting to report in Cornerstone (CSOD) on all the employees that have been assigned this module and their status with completing this module and their text response to each individual question.

This module has been published in Cornerstone in SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 but we have had no success in being able to report on the text responses. Various links say this can be done.

Any suggestions on what we and or our Cornerstone Systems admin can do to get this working is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello Natalie!

I'm happy to help! Would you mind sharing more about how you're tracking progress in the Storyline course?

Are you using a Results Slide, complete course trigger, or by the number of slides viewed? If you want to track responses, then I'd recommend using the Results Slide.

If you're already tracking progress using the Results Slide, I'd check with Cornerstone to see if they recommend using a customized report to track the text responses. If you're publishing using SCORM 2004, this information is already passed to the LMS.

If you'd like us to look at your project, you can either attach it to this public discussion by using the Add Attachment button or upload it to us privately using this secure upload link.

Hello Lauren,

We have added a results slide and when they tested it they said "It seems that the SCORM is not sending information to LMS and that’s why the answers are not captured in the report. The SCORM should be built as per the tags needed to send the field information to LMS"

I have attached our test story and also the tags they were referring to.

Hello Natalie!

Thank you for sharing your project! I've tested your course in SCORM cloud and I'm seeing the responses in the report. I looked up recommendations from Cornerstone and this article suggests using SCORM 2004 3rd Edition. Your course is published for SCORM 2004 2nd Edition.

Here's where you can make this change: Link

I'd recommend making this change and testing your course in Cornerstone.

Hello Kate,

Happy to step in! I believe Lauren was referring to using SCORM 2004 3rd Edition as a publishing option to get the course to report text responses properly in Cornerstone LMS. This option will work best if you have 'Fill in the Blank' questions in your Rise 360 course.

If you encounter any issues with reporting data from your Rise 360 course back to your LMS, open a case with our support team here so we can provide additional assistance.
