Error Report Every Time I Save A File

May 31, 2023

Good Afternoon Heroes! Can we have some discussion about SL and how to successfully save practice / projects etc. I receive a strange message (see attached) every time I save (which is often), I save to a folder on my desktop, I have not saved files to any sort of cloud platform. Yesterday, about 5 slides that I created were simply gone from my practice file in my folder on my desktop. Is this happening to others? I certain don't want to continue my practice until I resolves this issue. Am I on an island alone? Input please ......

  • Are you *working* from a local drive - that is, is the primary file location on your hard drive and not a shared network drive or cloud location?
  • Are you using the latest build (there was one released in the past week)?
  • Does your system have adequate memory?
  • Are there other memory-intensive programs (such as Camtasia or Adobe Illustrator) also running?

These are a few things I would check. If the answers to these suggestions is (yes, yes, yes, and no), then I would probably submit a support case to Articulate and engage their expertise.

Good luck!

Hi Jeanine,

Great question! I understand you would like to know if you are using the latest build of Storyline 360 and how to know when you have a software update. I'd be happy to get you some information on that!

In the Articulate 360 app, follow these steps to see build information.

  1. Hover over Storyline 360.
  2. Click the arrowhead that appears to the left of the Open button.
  3. Click Other Versions.
  4. The build information is in the middle column.

The latest version of the software is at the top of the list. Click the "Install" button to update the software.

Also in the Articulate 360 app, a blue bar will appear above the list of apps telling you there is a software update available to download.

I hope this helps!

Hi Jeanine,

The updating of Storyline 360 will have to be done in the Articulate 360 Desktop app, and not in Storyline 360 itself. You'll want to look for this icon on your Desktop or in the Windows bar:

And then follow the steps mentioned by my colleague John in his response above. Check out this article for more information:
