Error when publishing video

Mar 04, 2023

Hi,

This is the first time I've published to video (usually publish to LMS or Review 360). Twice I've received the error "An unexpected error occurred while publishing to video. If this problem persists please contact support." when it gets to the cleaning up temporary files step.

I've reviewed some posts here from 2-3 years ago with this issue that seemed to be fixed by an update?

The project is 18 slides long with audio on each slide, but no animations or layers. I indicated that slides advance automatically, and have unchecked all player tabs. Even though I turned off the menu, I also chose "free" for the menu options relating to navigation restrictions.

I am using Storyline version 3.72.29699.0, am publishing to my desktop, and I've restarted Storyline. The publish settings on the video tab are in the attachment.

Thanks for any guidance and help!

Kim

Hi Kimberly,

Sorry to hear that you ran into this snag.

On my end, I had no issues publishing your project file to video. You can download a copy of the published output here.

Since the issue appears to be isolated to your local installation, first, make sure that your project file is saved somewhere on your computer and not on a network drive when you attempt to publish. If you are already working locally, try doing a repair of your Storyline 360 installation to see if this helps.

If the issue persists, open a case with our support team here so we can take a closer look at what's happening.

Hi, Liza

Unfortunately, I was in a hurry and couldn't explore the case with the support team and just downloaded the copy of the published output Joe provided. It would be rare for me not to publish to our LMS, so since this was a unique situation, I just moved on.

Sorry that I'm lame and no help! Best of luck!

Hi Liza!

It sounds like you were also having some trouble publishing a Storyline course to video. Sorry to hear that, but I'd be happy to work with you to figure out what could be causing that!

I had some follow-up questions first to help me understand what you are experiencing a little better.

If still unsuccessful, I'd like to connect you with one of our talented support engineers so they can investigate what's going on. You can reach them here!
