Eye Dropper bug on multiple monitors

Dec 05, 2018

The eye dropper tool used within the "More fill colors" palette is glitchy on my multiple monitor set up.

The eye dropper does not track properly - even confusing which monitor is displaying the pixels.

In some cases I can work around this issue by guessing where the cursor is actually tracking, but that process is ridiculous and interfering with my workflow.

Please fix this simple functionality that really should work on multiple monitors - I don't know any developers that use single monitors anymore.

Alyssa - I also work with Captivate and remembered a similar issue with tracking when doing screen captures.

Windows 10 sets the default resolution to 125 percent as the recommended default. Simply setting the default to 100 percent in the Display settings seems to have fixed the problem on my three monitors, i.e. the eye dropper now picks up the colour value of the pixel I hover over and click on. I have passed this on to the rest of my development team members.

Hi Everyone,

Great news!

Today we released the newest version of Storyline 360, build 3.30.19518.0.  The issue with the eyedropper not working with multiple monitors has been resolved in this release!

The first step is to update Storyline 360. Head over to the desktop app and click the "Update" button for Storyline. More detail here.

As always, if you have any questions go ahead and post them in this discussion or reach out to our Support Engineers directly.

Hello Rachel!

We're happy to help with what you're running into with the eyedropper! We don't have recent reports related to this bug after we released the fix. Do you mind sharing a quick screen recording with us to see if we can recreate the steps?
