Font weight issue

Dec 20, 2021

Hi everyone, I have installed a new font for my storyline project and the text always becomes bold when I use it. I've tried with Word and it works just like what I wanted(not bold). Do you have any idea about this bug? By the way, the font is Gotham Light.

Attached two screenshot with bold selected and not selected. It's the same result :(

Thank you all!

Hello Yaoyao, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊

Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing with your font. The images look like both of the samples are not bolded.

I downloaded Gotham Light and Gotham Bold, and there is a visible difference in the font-weight and is comparable to a previously installed font. I used Open Sans in my example:

Does this match what you see as well?

With font families, you want to download the other aspects to include additional options, like bold, as expected.

Hi Leslie,

Thank you for replying me!

Actually, it's different between Gotham bold and Gotham Light bold. Gotham Light is really very Light so the bolded Gotham light looks lighter than other regular font. I've tried with another PC and it works well(image attached). BUt il's not working on my main PC even after the diagnosis on the desktop app. I've tried to reinstall storyline and the font, it's not working. :(

Thanks for confirming that, Yaoyao!

I downloaded the Gotham Light font, and did a quick test enabling Bold formatting on a couple of the words and I'm seeing a difference between the two:

Since you mention this doesn't happen on your other computer, I'd like to test the font in a different application. I've attached a Word document as well as my sample .story file. Can you let me know how things look on your end?

I'm staying tuned for your response so we can keep at this!

Thanks for testing that for me, Yaoyao!

Since you confirmed you've already walked through these steps to uninstall/reinstall Storyline completely, I'd like our support engineers to step in to continue this investigation.
