Format Closed Caption box

May 28, 2019

Hi everyone. I'm seeing if there is an option to change or move the closed caption box yet. I see from a discussion last year, that the box format and location is by default location only.

At this time, the default box is a bit lower than my actual screen and it's white text on black the same as my slide footers so get's lost.

Any changes? Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 86, we’ve included important fixes and new features.

One of the new features we’ve included:

  • Position captions at the top or bottom of the slide to ensure closed caption visibility and prevent the obstruction of critical course content.

Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You’ll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Kelly,

I do not have any additional news to share. We do have an open feature request that we are tracking, so I've added this conversation to the report. This helps us track the user requests as well as share any updates we have with you here.

I wanted to share some information about how we manage these feature requests as that may be helpful.

The ability to change the location of the CC really needs to be implemented. In Adobe Captivate it is extremely easy to change all aspects of closed caption (font, color, background-color, location, size).  Captivate is coming out with a total make over this year. I would not want my team to go back to Captivate because they fixed the other problems and CC is so much better.

CC in Storyline is similar to scripting is in Captivate, clunky and hard to use.
