Hi everyone!
I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 74, we've included important fixes and new features.
One of the new features we've included is:
- Create immersive experiences with continuous background audio that sets the tone and keeps learners engaged.
Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you have questions!

Maybe you could use slide layers to create the effect of multiple slides, so when the timeline of 1 slide layer ends, you show another slide layer. The music could be on the base slide.
Norm is right you can do this so long as you don't hide your base layer
Here is an example for the option Norm suggested. This may look like a project with several slides but it is actually one slide with several layers. The (looped) audio file plays on the slide's baselayer.
Hi Maggie! Looks like you are getting some great assistance here :)
Hello all,
Thanks so much for all the wonderful suggestions. Especially Norm. Sorry for my delayed response. I appreciate all the help I have been getting from the community!
No worries Maggie! Glad you are getting the assistance that you need here and thank you for popping in with an update.
Late to the thread here but I would like some assistance in having a music track play through out my 30 slides with no break in the music.....while I am following the solutions above, being a newbie I cannot make it happen.
Hi, George -- Thanks for reaching out and just to confirm, have you had a chance to take a look at this information on looping audio or video, by chance?
Hey...! its very easy! we have to call music externally.
Hi Bhaskar!
You are welcome to share your method with the community as it may assist someone in the future :)
Hi,
I added the music in Master Slide and it automatically runs in all slides and layers, and the prev next button dosen't effect on music.
Thanks for sharing your solution as well Somya :) It could certainly assist someone that runs across this thread in the future.
Thank You Somya Sweta, good Idea:)
Hi Somya,
Can you please share the Story file?
Thanks,
Amey Sawant
That is amazing! Have you shared the source file anywhere? I would love to see the source file.
This thread is a bit dated Danielli. If you do not hear back from the user soon, please be sure to reach out via the 'Contact Me' option on the user profile.
I tried this. I inserted a 3 minuted .mp3 song into the Master Slide. However, every new slide I visit in the published project, it starts the song from the very beginning. So, I end up hearing the first 5 seconds of the song each slide and it begins again....
I submitted a feature request. But really Articulate, this is a HUGE hole in your feature list for Storyline. Captivate could do this about 5 years ago... And, I can publish directly as .mp4 with Captivate... Love Storyline, but this is a considerable negative for the product.
Hi Todd,
Have you seen this cool method from Emily? I know a lot of folks are using it with success and have shared it's pretty easy to set up.
JavaScript can do this for you. Check out the attached file which loads and plays the song and has additional script included to adjust the volume.
Thx, - I'm currently doing the JavaScript solution. However compared to other products on the market, this is a "fix" and not an ideal solution. For example, I can't hear the audio when I preview. I also can't synchronize slides/animations and timings with the audio when I author the slide content.
You are welcome.... and agreed. :)
Thanks so much for this, Owen! I'm new to JavaScript. Is there a way to attach the audio file within the course instead of linking it to an outside location?
One would think with the money that is spent on this product that this would be addressed especially since there is a need
Yes, but it takes a few steps.
Check out this discussion.
If it doesn't make any sense, shoot me an email with your questions and I'll see what I can do.
Hi Guys,
I recently upgraded to Storyline 3 and can't seem to add the background music using the same steps as mentioned above. I've been trying to research on this since yesterday. Can anyone help?
