How do I rewind the audio in the middle of the slide?
Oct 04, 2018
Hi!
I'm having some issues with the audio in a presentation in Articulate storyline 3. I've added a seekbar, and the paus button works perfectly fine, but the rewind button only works if you let the entire audio play to the end first. If the button is pressed prematurely, the audio bar (I think that is its name?) restarts, but the audio keeps playing until it's finished. I know you could go to the next slide and then back to listen again, but I also want the course-takers to be able to go back just a few seconds if they miss something, since most slides have a lot of information.

I have checked it but when I click the replay button in seek bar the audio plays from start. My settings are automatically decide when revisiting in slide properties. If you still see the issue, share you story file.
Hi Alina!
It sounds like you want your learners to be able to go back just a few seconds on the seekbar if they miss something in the audio. To do that, simply click on the seekbar itself (not the rewind button), and the seekbar will jump back to the place where you clicked.
Let me know if that's what you had in mind!
Hi Alyssa!
That's the thing! When I just klick the seekbar, the audio doesn't rewind -only the seekbar itself does. I only seem to be able to re-listen to the audio by rewinding it entirely..?
Hi, Alina!
Oh really? Well, that's certainly odd! 🤔
Would you mind sharing a sample slide with me? I'd like to test it in Storyline 3 on my side. Thanks!
Hi Alyssa!
Thank you for trying to help!
Here is a sample slide:
Hi Alina!
Thanks for sending over your file. Check out this short Peek screen recording of my testing.
As you can see, when I click on the seekbar, the audio jumps back to that specific place in the timeline.
Let's double check that you and I are using the same update of Storyline 3. Click the Help tab, then click About Storyline. Is this what you see there? Update 5: 3.5.16548.0
Back to this question. Does the rewind button just not work and the user has to use the seek bar to go back?
Thanks for following up, Sharria!
Since this discussion mentions Storyline 3 and is a tad outdated, I'd like to gather clues to help better:
If possible, could I have you share your file with us so we can dig in deeper? I'd love to help get to the bottom of this with you!
