I've been screenrecording via storyline360, and also imported an MP4 video into my slides. However, when I export the course the video quality diminishes greatly.
I understand storyline360 compresses videos to decrease file size, however, I cannot disable it for both types of videos in my course, as the compression dropdown is greyed out.
How do I either turn off video compression or increase video quality so my users can see the videos I have created.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue with video compression, but I'm happy to help troubleshoot.
You can turn off compression altogether for MP4 videos created with baseline, main, or high profiles. (All other videos will be compressed automatically.)
- If the Compression property is grayed out, it means your video was created with a different profile or it has been edited with Storyline's built-in video editor.

JK. I had this same issue and found your post today researching. I reset the size of the video player and adjusted the publishing setting for highest quality and it worked in the modern player.
I will have to change my slide design to accommodate, but it did improve the quality. These were the directions I used:

Is there a way to edit the video with Storyline's built-in video editor without having the compression grayed out or without having the video automatically compressed?
for some reason I have to edit the video to increase the volume, even though the volume is set to high.
I have a few quick questions to better understand:
Are you looking for the capability to adjust the video's audio separately from the other editing properties? As my colleague Kelly mentioned earlier, here are some guidelines for best practices.
What kind of video file are you working with? Have you edited this video outside of Storyline 360?

Thanks for your response, I found a fix outside Stroryline, but I'll explain for any future viewers.
For some reason the video's voice was somehow low and editing to increase the volume seemed to be a fix until I published and realized the quality of the video dropped as it was 3d animated and the settings changed to compressed and got greyed out so I can't change it back unless I undo the volume changing.
I couldn't find a fix so I just amplified the volume in Adobe Premier and reuploaded the video.
