I have a wishlist item for Storyline. I'd like to see instances added as a feature. I have to change a button in a module that appears on multiple slides. Having the ability to save an item as an instance would allow me to change the instance once and have it change everywhere that instance is used.
I also think it would be a fabulous idea and think that it would help to streamline things and well make it easier to well change the way things look, function and act in a timely manner. I know I typically drop my feedback and suggestions for features here. I do know that they are very responsive to forums as well. Hope you have a good day!
Hey, Wendy, usually these features take a really long time, so it's a good idea to try to find a way around that. Here are my two suggestions:
1. If it's possible, use the Master Slide if the button appears on every slide, so you can change it just one time if needed.
2. If you double click the Format Painter button, you can go through each slide and just click the button and all the states properties will be applied to the button. This way is pretty efficient and you could be done in a minute.
