To anyone reading this who might have the same issue:
When you insert a WAV file into Storyline 360, it will automatically be converted to an MP3 for storage in Storyline. This is to prepare the files: Storyline will need to convert all audio files to MP3 when publishing, and there isn't a way to stop or change this process.
While the timeline will show your file as an MP3 right after inserting your file, you can still export your file as a WAV file from the slide stage/Media Library when needed!
Thank you for taking the time to come back and share what you learned by opening the support case! I'm sure others who might come across this post will find it super helpful!
