I have a slider mid-way through my course that is not working. I have viewed other answers to this topic and followed the advice of making sure to view the interaction in the same format as I published to (in this case the web).
I uploaded my zipped file to Tempshare, and viewed it from there but I still can't get it to work. Please advise...
Thanks for sharing a copy of your project file here with me. I was able to test it and see that the animation that is applied to the section of the layer including the slider is what is causing the issue with the HTML5 output. We have an open issue with our team where that causes the slider to not be able to drag to the end. This is in Storyline 2- and I also tested it in Storyline 360 where the same issue does not occur.
The issue with the HTML5 output and animations in Storyline 2 has been reported it to our team, and continue to keep an eye on it to evaluate how many customers are impacted and what impact it has on courses. The number of customers and depth of impact are two of the elements that help us prioritize bugs and fixes.
Here's some more detail about how we tackle bugs. I'm really sorry that I can't say if this issue will be fixed but you're in the right place to stay updated on this bug's progress.
The bug Ashley referred to happens specifically when an entrance animation is applied to a slider. Does the slider in your course have an entrance animation?
I'd like to have a closer look at your file, if you don't mind sharing it. You can attach it directly to this discussion thread.
Thanks for your response. There is no animation applied to the slider. The slider works in the SCORM Cloud when I convert the course to Storyline 3. However, it doesn't work for SL2.
It appears to be that SL2 sliders don't work in LMSs viewed with Chrome. However, SL3 sliders work fine. The SL2 sliders do however work outside an LMS, like through Articulate Tempshare. It's weird.
I have a hunch that this problem is due to Storyline 2 Flash output vs. Storyline 2 HTML5 output, since you said the slider works on Tempshare but not on a LMS.
Do you have a sample slide you could share with us that we can use for testing? You can attach it right here in a new thread comment. Thanks!
Any update on this issue? My sliders are not playing in Chrome in my LMS, although they do play in IE. I have returned Chrome to the default as was recommended previously. Not helpful.
Hi there, Teresa. We have an open issue with sliders in the HTML5 output of Storyline 2 in Chrome version 69. Does that sound like what you're experiencing?
The workaround currently is to keep Flash Player enabled in Chrome. Is that the default setting you're referring to?
I am interested in using a slider in a course i am making. Is this an issue if we publish to Flash with HTML5 backup instead of publishing to HTML5 only? I want to avoid issues, but it sounds like there are still some issues going on.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue when publishing your course to the web.
What are you seeing when you report that it is not working?
Which browser are you using? Have you tried viewing the course in a different one?
If you're comfortable sharing your file, I'd be happy to investigate what's going on! You can upload it here or share it privately through a support case. We'll delete it from our systems once troubleshooting is complete.

Hi Heather
I've viewed your link and the slider works fine for me - which browser are you using? I used Chrome - see Peek video of the slider working
Ugh - I am using Chrome as well. Not sure what's going on.
Was the graphic and text there from the beginning ("You're a Star'?)
That is only supposed to appear when the slider has been moved all the way
to the right (value set at 3).
I attached my zipped file in the original message if you need to check on
anything.
Thank you,
Heather Dykes
Hi Heather,
Your slider also worked for me in Flash (star appears after dragging) but in the HTML5 output in Chrome I couldn't drag the slider at all.
Can we take a look at your .story file? That's the file prior to publish and you can upload it here!
Sure - thanks for taking a look at this attachment...

Thanks for getting back to me Ashley...
Has this issue been resolved in SL2? Sliders are not working for me in Chrome.

Hi Laura,
Sorry that you've run into this issue as well.
I do not have an update to provide on the issue. You can check out how we prioritize issues in Ashley's post above about tackling bugs.
I did take a look at the report and it seems specific to the following Entrance animations when viewing the HTML5 output:
Fly in
Fade in
Wipe/Enter from Top
Using the float in animation or removing the animation seems to work ok.
Hope that helps you out :)

Hi Jennifer! It looks like you have Storyline 360, is that right?
The issue referenced earlier in this conversation relates to Storyline 2, not Storyline 360.
You shouldn't have any trouble with your slider in Flash with HTML5 backup, but if you run into some unexpected behavior, let us know!
Excellent! Thanks
Sincerely, Jennifer B Young
Has there been an update to this issue? I have Storyline 360 and my slider works if published to Review360, but does not work when published to Web.
