Timeline Playhead does not move
In slide view.
Tested on a simple basic slide with text boxes and audio clip.
When I click the timeline play/pause button the audio plays but the playead arrow remains at 0 seconds and the text box timings and animation do not play. They are permantly visible. Click pause or space bar restarts the audio.
Occasionally the whole program crashes on pressing spacebar.
In storyline 2 the playhead would move (as you would expect) and help align text to voice but does not work in trial version of storyline 360.
Is this a bug or am I missing something? I also have storyline 2 installed on same pc (possible conflict?)
On windows 10 and storyline360 version 3.43.22859.0

Hello Nigel and welcome to E-Learning Heroes 😊
Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing in your project file.
I created a sample slide based on what you shared and I cannot replicate the behavior.
The fact that you're using a trial version or that you still have Storyline 2 installed on the same machine should not be a factor.
I'm curious if the issue happens in any course you are working on or just this particular one?
- If you cannot re-create the issue in a new course, I would advise you to import the file into a new one and proceed.
- If it's happening in any/all files, you should conduct a repair of your software.

Hello Leslie,
Thanks for the assistance but I still have the problem.
It happens in all courses.
I tried the repair / reinstall as advised.
No difference. Playhead does not move. Animation timings do not play. Although the audio does play.

Did this get resolved? I am experiencing the same issue. I press the play button in the timeline and nothing happens.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am having an issue where I am previewing the audio as I always do so I tweak when things appear etc., and when I press the space bar SL asks me if I want to save my work before closing. And I have just saved the file, it just closes it. This, as well as the HORRIBLE, new text box "feature" is killing my work flow.

Hi Ulises and Julia!
Ulises, I reviewed Nigel's case, and it looks like our team was able to dig deeper into some of the settings in his setup to get it working again.
If you'd like for our team to take a look, feel free to connect with us!
Julia, I'm sorry to hear that! Does it only happen when using a spacebar, or does it happen with mouse clicks as well? I've opened a case on your behalf to look more closely at this and nail down the cause!

Hallo Ren since yesterday i can't use the playhead (exactly like Nigel example above) because it is blocked, i.e. when i click play it stays still and i hear the audio, this happens on every .story source file i open. In addition, while using storyline it crashes sending me the messages that I attach, in this way it becomes very difficult to work, what can i do to repair it? Thanks
